I am sorry to learn of your family sorrow. The death of a loved one is painful. If I may, I'd like to share scripture found in your Bible that may comfort you in some way. Please take a moment to read John 6:40, 44, Ps. 36:9, 37:29.

A very good man, you will be missed. My thoughts and very best to the family.

I worked with Van many years a go with the WACS program. He was truly an amazing young man with a lot of wisdom for one so young. Regina I am so sorry for your loss. God bless and keep you.

I deeply regret not being able to be with you at this time. I am out of state. Van will be greatly missed as both a memorable student and wonderful friend. Please accept my sympathies and prayers during this time of grief.

Van was a great guy, good cop, and a person you could talk to. He helped a friend of mine out when they had a tough time at a Alabama football game. He was in great shape and an example to us all, to do better. I pray his family finds peace in their hearts. Go with God Van.

A loving, Christian husband, father, friend, and protector of the community. I pray for comfort for Van's family.

My daughters and I were saddened by the news of Van's passing. We lived in the same neighborhood for several years before we moved to Birmingham. He was always so kind and helpful. I always felt safe knowing that he lived just down the street. It is our prayer that God would grant His grace and peace to Van's family during this difficult time.

We only knew you for a short time, but were blessed by your presence. We remember your family in this time of sorrow, but we are comforted by the knowledge that this separation is only for a short time. We will all rejoice when our faith turns to sight and we see Jesus, and the loved ones who have gone ahead of us.

As a former policeman my self I send my condolences to the family and pray for understanding and comfort during this difficult time. God knows your suffering and will send a comforter to help you. I am sorry for your loss. "Blessed are the "peacemakers," for they shall be called the Son's of God." Matt. 5:9, "Blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comforted." Matt.5:4 Remember always; He is not gone, He is just away.

Van was always the life of the party, a happy fun loving person. He loved his wife, Regina and daughter, Lizzy with all his heart. He will be dearly missed and his joyfilled smile and illuminating spirit will never be forgotten.
