Julia Westrod, 91

GEORGETOWN - Julia Westrod of Georgetown, formerly of Smyrna, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2008, in the Milford Hospice Center. She was 91. Mrs. Westrod was born Sept. 20, 1917, in Garfield, N.J., the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Somgyi Bruncz. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Westrod was a member of St. Polycarps Roman Catholic Church in Smyrna and a former member of Mamie A. Warren Sr. Center. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Westrod. She is survived by two sons, Robert J. Westrod of Middletown, and Raymond Westrod of Dover; a daughter, Ruth Ann VerCammen of Georgetown; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 South Main Street Smyrna, where friends may call one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery Smyrna. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Delaware Hospice, 911 South DuPont Highway Dover, DE 19901.
