Vanessa, although I haven't seen you in many years, I will always remember you as being a very sweet, kind person. I really wish I had been able to reconnect with you sooner, but I will always cherish the memories I have of you. Hearing about all the lives you touched and your compassion for those who are struggling or less fortunate makes me want to be a better person. Your loss is going to be extremely painful and difficult for so many people, but I personally take comfort in believing that you were called on for higher purposes. My sincerest condolences go out to your family and loved ones. May their sorrow and grief soon be overwhelmed with the warmth of your memories in their hearts. You will not be forgotten.

Vanessa was a co-worker and friend for 8 years. She was my executive assistant at Wachovia/Wells Fargo and was absolutely the best, both professionally and as a loyal friend. I was at her service and I learned a lot about why she was so special, meeting her Dad, Mom, Brother and extended family, it was easy to see where she got the wonderful qualities that I cherished in her. Not sure how much Vanessa spoke about her work life, so let me provide a perspective some may hear for the first time..... She was my " work wife", Lisa (my real wife) and Vanessa used to laugh at me as Vanessa claimed she was the first person to diagnose me as having Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD)!!!! She was right of course. She new my children. She actually carried a Steelers "Terrible Towel" into Cowboys Stadium on a private team tour. A gutsy move. Still laughing at that. I remember how much Sushi she could eat. It was amazing. Usually 2 orders of Tuna Sashimi, 3 orders of Nigiri and a volcano roll. She would order twice what I ordered at lunches. She stayed skinny and I didn't. Still trying to figure that one out. She loved her dogs... I cured Sig's weight problem with simple advice, she was feeding him too much. She was in denial and told me I was wrong. I'm very much right, she fed him too much, that dog would eat her hand if he could.... She loved her work and she loved her friends. She was selfless, glass half full about EVERYTHING. In the end, it's the little things I remember. It's always the little things. But that's what makes her so special. Every time I'll watch the Cowboys or Steelers play, or when I order sushi, I'll think of her. And you know what? I'm glad for that. What a wonderful gift. Thank you for being a part of my life. What an honor to count you as my friend and what true honor to meet your family.

Vanessa, You were one of the kindest, selfless, most joyful people I have ever met in my life. Like many who have met you can attest, your smile was so vibrant and could light up a room. You were truly a person with a beautiful heart and soul. I am glad that you are now in a place of eternal peace and can no longer be sad or hurt. I take comfort in knowing that you are now in a better place and that our loving father will protect you now. Though we haven't chatted in a while, it still feels like just yesterday that we were sharing our love of Angelo & Vito's pizza and gushing over each of our dog children! I am a better person for ever having known you. May God put more angels on this earth like you. My heart goes out to your family in this very difficult time. My prayers are with them. You are loved and missed by more people than you can ever imagine.

I will never forget the day I met Vanessa in college! I was two dorm rooms down the hall from her. A bunch of girls were in my room where we were carrying on at all hours if the night. Vanessa came pounding on my door telling us to shut the hell up! She was a feisty thing, which I absolutely loved! The next 25 years we have been inseparable! Maid of Honor at my wedding and with me thorough every even in my life and me hers. I'll most remember our spa outings, our love for Mexican food, our three hour phone calls, texts, our live for animals and FaceTime chats! She was the most real person I've ever met. Always told it how it was and you always knew where you stood with her. She was the most beautiful and loving friend I ever could have asked for. Will love and miss you the rest oft life.

My heart aches for the Michael family during this heart wrenching time. Vanessa was an old college friend of mine who I reconnected with a few years ago which was an incredible gift, as I got to meet the wonderfully spirited woman she had so clearly become over the past 20 years and whose inner light was so bright you felt it the minute you came into contact with her. She was full of love for our Father God which gives me peace knowing that she is Home and in the most magnificent place imaginable. Michael family, you are in my prayers as you navigate your way through the fog of such unimaginable loss. Having been there as well, I can tell you you somehow survive it although you may not be able to fathom that right now. Vanessa was a gift I will cherish forever.

Words can't express how much I miss you Vanessa you were an angel and a blessing in all of our lives. My beautiful friend was amazing and beautiful inside and out. She never met a stranger, she was loving, caring and compassionate and completely unselfish, kind to others, forgiving, humble trustworthy, honest and always gave without any expectations in return, and no matter what always look for the best in others.

Vanessa was one of the most gentle and caring individuals anyone could have ever known. Her smile brightened the day of every room she entered. Vanessa we are devastated by your loss. I am going to miss our play dates with Sig and Rocky, our long talks, movie night, I see you in every room as I walk around my house, I miss your smile, I miss you. Thank you for being the best auntie to my boys, thank you for being in my life and for loving me.

You forever will be in my heart I love you Vanessa Marie Michael. You are fallen however your will NEVER be forgotten. I love you

It's so difficult to think about Vanessa in the past. She was such a wonderful person who had the biggest laugh and heart for such a small body. One of my favorite memories is when she toured the new stadium and sent pictures in the end zone holding her Terrible Towel! We laughed so hard when she said she made sure to rub it on the goal posts. I loved every minute I was blessed to have with her and feel a big hole in my heart where she used to be.

You will be missed by so many people. I don't think you ever understood how you could light up a room with your smile, or how many people's life's you touched in a positive way. I'm going to miss talking about The Steelers, terrible towels, and the next race. You will not be forgotten!!

My heart goes out to Vanessa'a family at this terribly painful time. Vanessa was an amazing light and such a beautiful woman inside and out. Always ready to laugh and love. She gave of herself beyond measure. I found the first picture I ever took of her back in 1985. That girl had such style and class even then. I take heart in knowing she is in Heaven and no one can ever hurt her again. She will be so missed.

This is a somber time but a happy time! The Vanessa I can remember back when we met in 2005 while going through a recovery coarse at Church was a sweet spirited woman wondering why she was going through the things she went through then. I felt that I gave her a little comfort that letting her know God was with her and he was going to get her through the things she was feeling at that time in her life and heart. Vanessa you are a beautiful woman and now you are home with your Father in Heaven. You are free to run as one of Gods children and able to love and serve your Father and those who have gone before you in Heaven. You will be missed dearly by many of your loved ones but always will be in their hearts forever and ever!! Your Loving Friend from back then Andre`

Cindy Boswell

February 28, 2014

Ness, you have always been my BFF and already I am lost without you. So many fun times together laughing out loud doing life, our crazy coordinated six month same time dental cleanings with Dr. Nix followed by hour extra long girly lunches (hahahaha...) what women in their 40's do that other than us? I could go on and on, woman. A wonderful soul you were, but more importantly to me you were that special girlfriend I had always prayed for. See you on the other side, sistah - your one and only Cindy Lou :-) ????
