Mr. Vaughan Thomas Bolstridge, 81, of 417 Judy Lane, Americus died Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010, at Magnolia Manor Nursing Center. Funeral services with military honors will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3 at Andersonville National Cemetery in Andersonville. The Rev. Tommy McConnell will officiate. The family will receive friends at the family residence, 417 Judy Lane.Mr. Bolstridge was born Aug. 8, 1928, in Limestone, Maine, the son of the late Almond Bolstridge and the late Agnes Roach Bolstridge. He served in the U.S. Navy and retired after 21 years of service. After military service, Mr. Bolstridge went to work with Textron, formerly in Americus, and retired as a purchasing agent.Survivors include his wife Alice Hogg Bolstridge of Americus; three daughters, Cherri Eddy of Virginia, Debbie Bevans of North Carolina and Cindy Cornellison of New Hampshire; two sons, Gary Bolstridge of California and Mike Bolstridge of New Hampshire; two sisters, four brothers and five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive.Aldridge Funeral Services at 612 Rees Park is in charge of arrangements.

Vaughn was always great to my kids, my wife, and myself. He was married to my wife's mother when he passed. Enjoyed playing golf with him. And......when you wanted a Budweiser, he came to the rescue.
