Vencent Eugene Hickman

Vencent Hickman, 78 of Toledo, Ohio passed away at the Kobacker House (Hospice) in Columbus, Ohio following a brief illness on Wednesday, July 2, 2025. Vencent was born on February 3, 1947, and was the son of Luther and Mary (Totty) Hickman who has preceded him in death.

Vencent was known to many as "Zeek." In his younger years, he enjoyed playing baseball, going fishing and poking fun to make people laugh. He also enjoyed fixing things and would challenge himself by taking things apart to see if he could put them back together successfully.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Yolanda & Steven Fumi-Fiamawle who lovingly and consistently cared for him and his needs. They moved him to Columbus, Ohio when he became ill to ensure that he received the best care while trying to recover from his illness. They never left his side and he knew that he was never alone.

He is also survived by his brother, Bernis Hickman of Houston Texas, who made the long journey on a regular basis to be there to show his love and support for his brother.

Vencent had two favorite nephews, Vernon Anthony & Vincent Allen (Lu Lu) Hickman who were instrumental in his care and were there to help him in any way when he needed them.

Other survivors include Christie (daughter), Justin (son), Verdell Hickman (brother) and many nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

He is also preceded in death by his two brothers, Vernon & Clarence Hickman.

A special thank you goes out to Jehovah's Witnesses in Columbus, Ohio who took a personal interest in Vencent and were there to support the family. Many thanks also to Deborah Webster who went over and above to care for Vencent.

I, Yolanda will truly miss my dad. We were able to spend everyday together during the last few months of his life which allowed us to develop a closer bond and to grow in love.

At my dad's request, there will be no funeral or memorial service. His remains will be spread in his favorite park in Toledo, Ohio.
