Vera Rich

A great Lady and eminent ambassador of Ukrainian culture in the English speaking world has gone forever!
I will miss my co-student in our weekly Ukrainian classes at the Ukrainian Institute where through Vera I learned as much about life, customs and English thinking as I brushed up my Ukrainian. You will be missed every Monday! Vichnaja pamjat'!

Vera was a genius, whose "impossibility", mentioned yesterday at the funeral will be missed enormously by Ukrainian and Belarussian people. Her indomitable playful spirit will always be with us!
I would like to finish with the words from the Hymn Vera had written:
So though we bid her now goodnight,
With tears of all too human sorrow,
We trust Thou'lt wake her to the light
Of Thine eternal glad tomorrow
