VerDene Soellner Obituary
VerDene M. Soellner, 81, of Monee, Il passed away January 24, 2024 at Aperion Care, Wilmington, Il. He was born November 30, 1942, son of Frances and VerDene A. Soellner. Widowed early in VerDene's life, Frances married Adrian W. Deiry and resided in Burbank, Il.
VerDene is survived by his wife Margaret (Marge) Fitch-Nietfeldt; son, Martin; daughter, Daphne; step sons; Kevin and Scott; sister, Diane; brother, Adrian (Butch); six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
As a young man, VerDene studied Marine biology in Florida, married Judith Brannon on November 17,1961 and settled in Illinois and followed a family tradition in carpentry that would span his lifetime.
On June 19, 1983, VerDene married Margaret Nietfeldt. Together they enjoyed gathering with family and friends where a card game was always in motion. A favorite pastime scouring fleamarkets in the summertime was on the agenda. His love for fishing and gardening produced many "fish stories" and harvests shared.
He will be sadly missed.
Cremation Rites have been accorded. A scattering of ashes ceremony will be held in Florida at the Gulf of Mexico.
A celebration of life will be held February 4, 2024, 2:00 pm to 5:00pm, at The American Legion Post #392, 109 E. North St., Peotone, Il 60468
