VAN SLYKE, Vern Jacob On May 27, 2003, Vern Jacob Van Slyke of Camrose passed away at the age of 86 years. He is survived by Barbara, his loving wife and caregiver of 64 years; five children, daughter, Donna (Bill) Urkow of Camrose; sons, Robert of Millet, Allen (Pat) of Leduc, Lloyd (Darlene) of Daysland, Ron (Betty) of St. Albert; two brothers, Clifford and Mervin (Emma); 18 grandchildren; as well as 14 great-grandchildren. Vern is predeceased by his parents, Clarence and Catherine Van Slyke; sister-in-law, Ann Van Slyke; and grandson, Ken Van Slyke. Memorial Prayers will be held at St. Francis Xavier Church, 5010-48A Avenue, Camrose, Alberta on Friday, May 30, 2003, at 8:00 p.m. Reverend Nestor Watin will celebrate a Memorial Mass at St. Francis Xavier Church, Camrose on Saturday, May 31, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. A private family interment of the urn will take place later Saturday afternoon.
