Dear Larry, Gerry, Janice, Reenie, Stephen and Brenda, I just found out today of Verna's passing and I can't tell you how saddened I was to hear the news. There's a special place in all of our hearts for our mothers, just like there's a special place in every mother's heart for her children. Your mom was truly one of the most open and giving human beings I have ever met. She always treated me like part of the family and that's exactly how I feel about all of you. I am so blessed to have known her and able to spend time with her. I have learned life-long lessons through her kindness and because of her I will walk through life with a bigger heart. I will never forget her. Please accept my sincere and heartfelt condolences.

Dear Gerry and all the Kelly family,
My mother, Margaret Carson, was Verna's first cousin. In their later years, they saw quite a bit of each other, shared warm memories, a love of bridge and a lot of laughs and were a big support to each other. I unfortunately didn't know Verna well myself but remember her as a lovely, warm, caring person who always wanted to know more about you than she was prepared to say about herself! Mum and Verna saw each other less frequently in the last few years with their respective health issues but they stayed in touch by phone as long as possible. Unfortunately, I couldn't bring Mum to either the wake or funeral but I attended in her place. It was a lovely and very moving celebration of Verna's life. Please accept our deepest sympathies for your profound loss.

Dear Brenda, Renata, Annie, Neve and to the Kelly Family,
My heartfelt sympathy and deep compassion at the passing of your much loved and beloved mother and grandmother.
I know that as time goes on, the pain of losing her will continue to blossom into beautiful memories, more cherished than ever.
To me, and to so many other childhood friends, she was always gracious and welcoming. Somehow ready to welcome yet another friend of her children into her home, her cottage and her heart. It has been a privilege to be a small part of her legacy of love with all of you the years.
Blessings and peace.
Your friend,
Karen Lahaise Mazur

My deepest condolences to all of you on your loss. I'll always remember how welcome I felt in her home, when Janice brought me to Ottawa. She had a wonderful way of making everyone feel included, indeed, part of the family. I loved her laugh, it was so infectious. She will be missed, but always remembered.

To Janice, Taylor, Lauren, and the Kelly family,
Through my friendship with Taylor, I had several chances to spend time with Nanny in Providence Bay, in Ottawa, and on her trips to Calgary. What an incredibly special woman, full of love, kindness, sense of humour, and heartwarming smile. Her generosity toward me as a friend of Taylor's is something I won't soon forget. My deepest condolences and love to you all.

Dear Larry, Gerry, Janice, Maureen, Steve, Brenda, spouses, children and grandchildren,
So sorry to hear about Verna passing. She was a wonderful woman, terrific mother and grandparent. She was a great friend to my parents and especially my mother. I've know Verna since I was six years old, almost 60 years ago, and don't have many memories before meeting the Kelly family. She will be greatly missed by the entire Ottawa community and beyond.
Prayers, condolences and much gratitude,
Patrick

Larry, Gerry, Janice, Reenie, Steve and Brenda,
I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your wonderful Mom. What a truly wonderful & lovely person she was! I have such fond memories of Aunt Verna and I especially enjoyed my visit with her last year.
Despite her failing health she always managed to keep a positive attitude and her terrific witty sense of humour.
Your Mom was so very proud of her family and I know how much she meant to all of you, which makes losing her very difficult but I hope you find comfort in knowing she is now at peace.
My thoughts and prayers are with each of you and your own families at this difficult time.

To Brenda, Renata, Annie, Neve and Family,
Our deepest sympathy in the loss of your dear Mom, Mother-in-law and Grandmother.
Mrs. Kelly always treated my family and myself with the utmost kindness, caring and respect.
She was an amazing woman who raised seven wonderful children. I will never forget her face and what she said when I was up at Norway Bay at her cottage and she showed me a very beautiful picture of her large and evergrowing family in a wedding book that I believe her Granddaughter Taylor gave to her as a gift. She was so proud and happy of having been a part of and of having been, in some way, responsible for that great many number of descendants. You all brought her so much joy.
She will be very dearly missed.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this most difficult time.
Love and Big Warm Hugs,
Anne Lynne, Dean, David and Matthew and the Lipson Family
