Verna Jean Rieches, 67, of Cissna Park passed away on Monday, February 19, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family.  She was born May 17, 1950 in Fairbury, the daughter of Perry and Louise Martin Honegger and they preceded her in death in addition to one brother-in-law, Charlie Johnson.
She married Lonnie Rieches on June 28, 1975 in Cissna Park and he survives.  Also surviving are three daughters, Angi (J.D.) Jennings of Cissna Park, Jennifer Boyle (Ben Tipsord) of Cissna Park and Alonna (Shane) Eades of Watseka; three sons, Joe (Amy) Rieches of Hoopeston, Steve (Jill) Rieches of Oakwood and Jonathan Rieches of Mahomet; two brothers, Jack (Robbi) Honegger of Lafayette, IN and Walt Honegger of Lafayette, IN; two sisters, Brenda Johnson of Nome, Alaska and Joni (Robert) Moser of East Peoria; and nineteen grandchildren, Meghan & Nick Rieches; Kyle, Brant & Kade Ramos; Nick Cardenas; Sam & Charlie Rieches; Gabbi, Ben & Anna Jennings; Karli & Keegan Boyle; Addi Tipsord; Hanson & Xander Rieches; and T.J., Cam, & Aspen Eades.
Verna was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cissna Park, Ladies Aid, Altar Guild, and Cissna Park Booster Club.  She worked for Songbird Essentials (Looker Products) in Milford for 26 years, managed Creekside Community Center in Cissna Park for 13 years, and catered for many years.  She loved gardening, cooking and baking for her family.  But her favorite past time was spending time with all of her grandkids and attending their many events.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, February 26, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cissna Park.  Rev. Tim Hahn will officiate.  Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery at Cissna Park.
Visitation will be from 2:00-7:00 pm on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at the Knapp Funeral Home in Cissna Park.
Memorials may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church in Cissna Park, Cissna Park Fire Department, Cissna Park Booster Club or donor's choice.
