Vernice "Bunky" Green

I met Bunky in Omaha, NE when I was 16 years old. He came there to visit his aunt. I was at the house watching him practice his horn and was taken aback by his sound and technique and all I heard. He had just turned 20 or 21 years old. I was impressed with his demeanor and disposition as a person. I went into the USAF as a bandsman and kept up with him. After I was discharged, we played with Red Sanders orchestra in Chicago, ILL. Both him and Edie were wonderful people.

What an awesome artist and kind soul he was! I'm so blessed to have cared for him as his CNA for 3 years! Bunky was always smiling and laughing . I will never forget our friendship. You passed away on my Birthday.rest in peace my sweet friend and enjoy Edie!!

Bunky will always be remembered as a remarkable teacher, performer, and friend. He also loved great food. We´ll miss you.

Bunky, the years making great music together, were the best day's of our young lives. Love you Forever.
