You and your siblings have been through so much over the last year. Words are very little comfort now, nor can they express the depth of emotions one goes through. We believe that every mark of affection and every gesture of friendship given to your family at this time are signs of God’s presence and peace for all of you. I was so saddened to hear of the loss of your Mom so shortly after your Father. It is comforting to know that they are now together. It has been a long time since I last saw your Mother but I vividly remember her as being a very welcoming and charming woman. She will be missed. Thinking of you.

And once again, as with Ed, I only met Von a couple of times...but even with only dinner or a drink on the deck (I think I can even recall being warm), I could see and feel the kindness, humour and the character shine through.
