Veronica Cannon Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 2, 2022.
Veronica Cannon passed away peacefully on December 15, 2021, at her home in Salisbury, MD. She was born on November 19,1941, to Francis and Catherine Deuel in Brooklyn, New York. In 1952 she moved with her family to West Islip, New York where she met her forever love, Francis Cannon at the age of 11. In June 1961 they were married and in 1963 they moved to Islip Terrace, New York where they raised their 3 children. She and Frank spent 61 years together before his passing in 2013. Veronica was a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend to many. She was an active parishioner of St. Peter's the Apostle Church where she was a Eucharistic Minister, Pre-Cana Team Member, 7th grade in home Religion teacher, and participated in many prayer groups and activities with the parish. She enjoyed her summers in Round Top, New York with her Whip O Will camping community. She moved to Salisbury, Maryland in 1996 and then to Port St. Lucie, Florida in 2009. She returned to Salisbury, Maryland in 2018 to live out the rest of life enjoying her great children. She was an active member of MAC and Lifebridges in Salisbury, MD where she made many friends and was loved by all. Her happiest moments were spent sitting around the kitchen table with family and friends talking, laughing, and sharing a cup of tea.

When she entered a room she brought laughter and love. She never wanted to miss a good time and her family was everything to her. Her faith never wavered and God always stood front and center in her life.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Francis Cannon, her parents, Catherine and Francis Deuel, her brother John Deuel, and her sisters, Diane Deuel Lynch and Mary Ann Deuel Swenson.

She is survived by a son, Kenneth Cannon, of Jensen Beach Fl., a son Kevin Cannon (Barbara) of Kissimmee Fl., a daughter, Kellyanne Cannon (Scott) of Salisbury, MD. A brother Dennis Deuel (Lydia) of Southhampton, NY.
