Vicki (Porter) de la Guardia Obituary
Vicki earned multiple degrees, including a Master's in Social Work from the University of Houston. She dedicated her career to social work and education, serving as a teacher at Our Lady of Lourdes, a Program Director at Alvin HeadStart, a center director for the Children's Center in Galveston, and as a consultant for Initiatives for Children. She worked as a primary therapist in psychiatric hospitals, units and clinics as well as served as a lecturer and Program Director for Public Service Leadership at UHCL.
Vicki's greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her husband, Tony de la Guardia; children Shelley Castro and Robert Chadwick Jr.; and five grandchildren. Her legacy of service and love will endure through all who knew her.
A private family celebration of life was held on September 22, 2024.
