I remember Vicky from Washington High School. I can see her now--one of the cheerleaders cheering on our basketball players. She was a pretty blond with a captivating smile. I became reacquainted with Vicky in graduate school at ECU where we both worked on our MA degrees in English. We commuted back and forth to Greenville a few times. I met Bob at ECU too. Vicky and Bob seemed to be a compatible couple. It sounds like the two of them were happy. To the sisters and the son, please accept my condolences.

I´m Claire Darrow. Vicky knew me as Claire Lewis her across Market Street neighbor. I spent many , many days and nights at the Grist home.! Her mother was a second mother to me and in later years became a favorite bridge partner.
I will always cherish our days of "kick the can", "no bears out tonight", jump rope, tree climbing, fort building and Vicky and Lucy letting me practice my school teaching skills on them. She will always remain in my heart as my first Best Friend!Love and hugs to all her family!
