My thoughts and prayers go out to the Anton family. Vic was my cooperating teacher in his final year before retirement at St Joesph High School. He was an amazing teacher and mentor who had a special bond with his students. I couldn't have asked for a better internship and I credit my love of math and of teaching to Vic. He was truly one of a kind and will be missed.

My deepest condolences during your time of sadness. I was blessed to have Vic and Phil as my teachers (both during one semester). They both encouraged me when I struggled with my math courses. Out of all my teachers, they fall into my most memorable. I have always remembered how much their encouragement guided me to continue. People cross our paths for reasons unknown, but Vic was always the voice in my head that told me to continue even when it seemed I could not go forward. Those math classes always ended with laughter and smiles.

I was so very sorry to hear of your loss. I had the pleasure of being a student of Vic's many years ago and the time spent in his classroom has been fondly recalled on many occasions. I remember we always thought we should have a T-shirt made with they sayings "this is dead easy" and "the village idiot could do this" on it. Lessons often began with "this is dead easy". Vic's enthusiasm and skill at explaining the lesson generally did make the problem easy. And the way he laughed out "the village idiot could do this" never felt like a put down. It always felt like he had every confidence we could handle it, no problem, and he was encouraging us to know it too.
He was one of those special teachers that influenced lives and will be remembered long, long after the days of sitting in the classroom.
My sincerest condolences to all of Mr. Anton's family at this sad time.

Norma, you were married to a true gentleman and scholar. I know he would have been a fantastic husband, father, teacher and grandpa! Norma and family, our thoughts are with you. We were so sad to hear of Vic's passing and are very sorry we will not be able to attend his service. We could not have asked for a better neighbor or friend. We will fondly remember the days of Vic chasing Connor around the yard playing games and Connor saying "pops lets play soccer", then "pops lets play ball". They played tirelessly for hours and you could tell they were both thoroughly enjoying every minute. He will truly be missed.

Norma, Suzanne & family I am so saddened to hear of Vic's passing. I have fond memories of Vic over the 35+ years I'd known him both personally and for the best friend he was to my dad. His courageous battle with cancer was fought with such dignity and strength. His loss is tremendous to our family but we know he is in a better place free of pain and we will continue to honour and remember him.

Was surprised and very sorry to hear of Vic's passing. We didn't know he was ill. I first met Vic in the basement of 801 Main Street, where he, cousin Lorne Duczek, cousin Bev Hickie, and myself spent a crowded first year at the U. of S. We played a lot of checkers, went to a few hockey and broom ball games, and eventually went to his and Norma's wedding at the Sheraton Cavalier, where we were warned to behave nicely. Then I taught with him at E.D. Feehan. He was an all-round good guy, and I'm sure the Lord knows that, and will welcome him with open arms...........
