Victor was a dear friend I’d had the pleasure of working with during his time with Madhorse Theatre Company in Portland, Maine, nearly 35 years ago, very sad to have found out about his passinga lovely, kind human being with passion for his art and a never ending supply of compassion for his fellow travelers on the way. His passion was his home outside the theatrehe was always hand laying stone walls around his old farmhouse in Sanbornville. He let me borrow his car one weekend for rehearsal with the condition that I pick up some St. Pauli Girl on the way backI had no license at the time, but he trusted me with his cargot lost and stopped by a policeman on the way back, he had to come pick me up and get the car the next day, but we joked about that episode for quite some time. He was a gem and his warm, giving spirit will follow me wherever I gothe place looks great, Vic, fly high until we meet again

Vic taught me design when I was a young aspiring theatre director in Alberta, Canada in the late 1970s. He was enormously creative, thoughtful and inspiring. I learned a lot about design from him. The following year he designed set, costumes and lighting--all with great art and skill-- for my MFA thesis show, a huge production of a Bertolt Brecht play. A lovely, modest and kind man, he a freely gave a gift of knowledge and inspiration to his many students, colleagues and friends. Vic's legacy will endure.

I am so sorry to hear about Vic's passing as I have many fond memories of him and his family from when we all lived in Pompton Plains. My thoughts and prayers are for his surviving family. Greg Becker

I was so sorry to hear that Victor had passed. He was always such a free spirit and lover of life. He and I drifted apart over the years, ...but I knew I could always drop by and get a smile and a glass of wine.

My thoughts and prayers to him and his family. I met Victor 40 years ago thru friends. I would drive by his home 2 0r 3 times week to have coffee at Horn pond. He will be missed.

Victor was a friend and colleague who worked with John Jacobsen and me at White Oak Associates starting in 1991. He was Director of Program Development. His work at White Oak encompassed much more than theaters. He developed the program spaces and sizes for all the components of a museum (what we called adjacency diagrams) and knew how to read the architects drawings to make sure the spaces would deliver what was expected. He also did detailed specifications for planetariums and giant screen theaters. The name of his company was so apt - Talking Spaces.

He was kind, talented, a good traveling companion, generous, and excellent at his work - detail oriented, creative, and committed to getting it right. I believe he and John met each other when they were in their 20s. They worked on a theatrical show for the Chateau de Ville, a dinner theater outside of Boston. They were paying their dues as they started their careers. R.I.P. Victor. You will be missed.

In total shock. Heard the news on Monday and I felt sad all day. Such a great contributor to the Town of Wakefield in his fun and thoughtful way. I was looking forward to continuing my work with Victor and helping the community of Wakefield. So many great thoughts and memories. We are blessed and grateful that he passed through our lives. He will be deeply missed. Condolences to his family and friends.

Vic and I as boys used to slide down 40 ft.evergreen trees for fun We also made pranks in the shed out back of his house.I loved his family.They were so kind to me.

So sorry to hear of Victors passing, he was a dedicated warrior for many projects, in our dear Town of Wakefield. The Wakefield Select board and other boards he work with will miss him greatly. My condolences to his family and dear friends. He always had a calmness about him, respectful, kind and well like in the community. Thank you to his family for giving us Victors time.

I will forever miss our talks and the gentle way of teaching he had.. grateful to have been in his world.

I am completely stunned. Could never imagine the world without Victor being alive. We did many shows together, and spent many hours solving world peace and imbibing. Many condolences to the family. Farewell, sweet prince.

This is a crushing tragedy.
Victor was my favorite scenic designer and a dear friend. Most importantly, Victor was a brilliant, kind, caring man and artist.
I will never forget the many designs he did for shows I directed, and the many pizzas and beers we shared with laughter. ❤ Peace.
