Victor Chirico Obituary
Hudson - Victor "Vito" Chirico died peacefully at the Firemen's Home on January 3, 2018 in Hudson NY at the age of 81.
Vito is survived by his siblings, Jean Ruh of Poughkeepise NY, James Chirico and his wife Betty of Fishkill NY, Roger Chirico and his companion Jennette Yanetelli Cold Spring NY, Michael Chirico and his wife Patty of Buchanan NY and Palma and her husband David Shloer of Westerlo NY. He is also survived by his 6 children and 6 grandchildren Dianna Chirico- Vacca and her husband Richard Vacca, Tina Chirico, Joseph Chirico and his wife Donna Chirico and their children Francesca and Giovanni, Marina Chirico Crispi and her husband Carmine Crispi and their children Nicholas and Mathew, Tony Chirico and his wife Toni Lynn Chirico and their children Dante' and Rylee and Christopher Chirico. His ex-wife and good friend Barbara Chirico. He is preceded in death by his parents Roger and Ercelia Chirico.
Vito was born on September 7,1936 in Crugers NY to Roger and Ercelia Chirico. He attended school at Hendrick Hudson High, he served in the US Army, he was a life member of East End Engine Company New Hamburgh NY, he drove for Sloper-Willen Ambulance Squad, he sang in the St Mary's Church Choir, sat on the Wappinger's School Board, many will remember him, lighting up the hill at Mount Alvernia for the local kids to sleigh ride, skating on the creek, coaching baseball, walking his pet ducks, fixing or building something in the neighborhood, parades, clam bakes and being there for whoever needed a helping hand. He is retired from New York Trap Rock.
A service is scheduled for January 11,2018 at the Firemen's Home Chapel, with a reception to follow at the Firemen's Home. Rick the Chaplin will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Vito's life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Firemen's Home at 125 Harry Howard Ave, Hudson NY 12534. The family would like to thank all the staff at the Firemen's Home for all their love and care they shared with our father.

So sorry to hear of Vito's passing.....Have many fond memories of him back in the '60's when we all lived on Swenson Drive in Wappingers Falls......one memory was when he was Santa Claus and rode around the neighborhood on the fire truck. How the kids loved him!

"Vito" Wow where do I began, January 14, 1980 I met you after getting voted into East End Engine Company #2 of the New Hamburg Fire District. From that day on you and Barbara treated me as just another son. I have a lot of fond and proud memories of you. You taught me how to drive a 5 Speed transmission Fire Truck in 1982. I worked with Joe cutting lawns for you (Sanford & Son) lawn care business. You and my sister Nettie became Best of Friends just your son Joe & I are now. Thank you Vito God Bless.
