Victor V Kutin

Victor V. Kutin was born September 7, 1927 in Traer, IA, second son of Charles and Esther (Svoboda) Kutin. He graduated from Traer High School in 1945, then servicing his country for two years in the Merchant Marines as a cook. He married Darlene Kucera in 1949 in Traer, IA, and had three children. Victor was employed as a carpenter by Stan Dedic and worked part time for the Chicago Rock Island and Pacific Railroad. In 1964 employed by John G Miller construction in Waterloo as a concrete finisher/Foreman for 17 yrs belonging to the Local #818 Cement Finishers Labor Union, retired 1980. Victor was active in the following fraternal organizations over the years: The Hesperia Lodge # 340 Traer, IA, and The Bona Dea Chapter # 375 of Eastern Star, Traer, IA, The Scottish Rite Temple of Cedar Rapids, IA, The York Rite of Waterloo, IA and The El Kahir Shrine Temple of Cedar Rapids, IA. Several specialty groups: The Firehouse Gang of Waterloo, IA, The Dl/Ml Club of Waterloo, IA, High Twelve of Waterloo, IA, Tama County Shrine Club, Tama IA Victor was very active in community organizations: past library board member for 20 years, and past church deacon. Past Sexton of Buckingham Cemetery, Traer, IA. Current member in the American Legion, Traer, IA. Chaperoned North Tama County Cheerleaders. Appraising old coins in the local area for Banks and family estates. Street Construction Consultant for the City of Traer. Favorite sayings: “See you later alligator, after while crocodile�, “Better than some, worst than others�, “You dirty old lady,� allergic to women,� “Glad you met me,� “And the wind blew.� He was preceded in Death by his brother Lester, sister Ida, mother Esther and father Charles. Survivors include three children: Phyllis Kutin of California, Charles (Betty) Kutin of Marion, IA, Joyce Kutin of Cedar Rapids, IA Three Grandchildren: Lanore (Breakenridge) Bechor of California, Melissa (Jeremy) Deegan of Traer, IA, and David Himschoot of Waterloo, IA Seven great grandchildren: Shylee, Jordan, Kayla , Destany, Jillian, Ethan and Ellery. Two sisters: Alice (Kutin) Lass of Traer, IA ; Donald and Betty (Kutin) Meggers of Hudson. Ex-wife and friend: Dennis and Darlene (Kucera) Walton.
