My condolences to the Mah family

My name is Ernie Hee. I played with the Blue Willow Angels Junior team back in the early 70s. I have lived in Vancouver since 1991 so I didn't know about your loss until today when of all things I was surfing to find out about some old friends. I have very fond memories of what a super guy Vic was and how he supported us. He will go down in my memories as one of the nicest men I ever met.

My condolences on the passing of Mr. Mah. He was a tremendous supporter of Edmonton and the sporting community. I had the privilege of first knowning him when playing baseball for his Blue Willow Junior team. He opened his restaurant and home to our team and will forever remember and be grateful for the hospitality he and your family showed us. As well as, in later years whenever visiting the restaurant he'd take time for a visit to catch-up and reminisce of those days and the latest sporting issues.
With deepest regrets.

The Schwabe Family (also known to the Mah Family as Superior Mushrooms)are sad to hear of Vic's Passing. Our Deepest Sympathy goes out to the Mah Family.
We have known Vic Mah (Blue Willow Restaurant and crew) 50 year's plus. We started our business the same time as Blue Willow opened, and Vic was our very first customer.
We looked forward to seeing Vic, when we went to Blue Willow Restaurant or even Canterbury Inn, to celebrate Birthday's, Anniversary or just for supper. Vic would come to the table to converse and it was welcoming.
He will be missed by all.
Our deepest Sympathy, and Wishing you peace at this time of sorrow.

Stan, Jean and Patrick...

I always have and always will have a soft spot in my heart for Vic...he was a man of great integrity, honor, and perhaps the most ardent sports supporter the city of Edmonton has ever been blessed to count amongest its citizens. And though Vic has now passed, his spirit will always linger at the Blue Willow...even these past few years, when he's been there less and less, I always sense his is warmth and in my mind's eye, see his gentle smile...he was a wonderful man who lived a good long life...what a legacy to leave behind...

Dear Mah Family,
Our Deepest Sympathy goes out to you in the loss of your loved one. I will always remember going to The Blue Willow many years ago, when it was downtown. My friend Dolores and I, always look forward to going to The Blue Willow (at the present location), on her birthday in February and on my birthday in November. (Not to mention the times in between). We have been doing this for years and years, and more recently, invited Dolores' friend Morris, and my husband Bob to join us. In February we had a nice chat with Stanley and I was asking about Victor. We really missed seeing him at the Blue Willow. He was such a kind and gentle soul and I am sure he will be missed by many people who had the privilege of knowing him.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Stanley, Patrick and family,

We were saddened to read of Vic's passing. He was truly a very kind-hearted and generous man and left, among many other things, a legacy of both Junior "A" and professional hockey in Edmonton. I remember attending the original Oil King games as a youngster when Vic, Brian Shaw and Bill Hunter owned the team. That was some great hockey. Thanks, Vic.

Vic was always very warm, pleasant and welcoming in later years when Bob and I used to go the the Blue Willow for supper. He would always come over to our table, buy us a coffee, entree or dessert and sit down with a coffee himself and chat.

Please accept our sincere sympathies and condolences at this very difficult time.

Please accept our prayers and condolences. My mom and dad used to take us to the Blue Willow, and every time we were there, Vic and Ester would always come over and sit and visit with us for a while. Their friendship was something special. And of course the food and service at the Blue Willow was always superb. Truly, one of Edmonton's finest people.
