Fifteen years later we are are still deeply hurt by his death. Vic will never be forgotten and will always remain in our hearts.

I can't begin to say how sad and shocked I was to learn of Vic's untimely passing. I served with Vic on the Board of Directors at Ocean Forest Plaza in Myrtle Beach, S.C. for several years. His integrity was always admirable and his determination to accomplish projects was inspiring. The entire Board of Directors is so deeply saddened as we have lost a dear friend and colleague. May God bless his family and all that has been touched by his influence as we try to understand and get through this sadness. We miss you Vic.

Although we were your neighbours on San Juan we felt that we never really got to know you because you were such a busy man, giving and sharing with those that knew you well. We are forever thankful of your generous and kind support of our son's baseball program at East Chapel Hill High.
All of your neighbors are deeply saddened and want to give our
condelences to your entire family. Rest in Peace.

The opportunity to meet and work closely with Vic in pursuit of a common passion, Youth Basketball", was a blessing to me. Vic's energy and deep commitment to excellence will be long remembered by those of us who respected him so much.
Vic was a tireless worker, who loved basketball and loved seeing kids succeed.
May God continue to Bless his family in the coming monthes in their time of mourning.

Vic was like a candle that brightened the lives of all who knew him. It seemed the candle burned at both ends much of the time. Perhaps that is why his time with us was so short. Rest well Vic. We will miss you.

As the parent of a NC Gater basketball player, I had nothing but respect and admiration for a man who dedicated so much of his time to the positive development of young athletes. We knew him as a kind and generous man. He will be missed tremendously. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Sapp and NC Gater family. May God bless.

I worked with Vic for 10 1/2 years. He was part of my family. Tyson was very close to Vic and enjoyed playing for him in Gater's Basketball. My heart breaks and the tears won't stop as I have lost a very dear and close friend, a big part of my life. I will miss you Vic --hearing you in the gym throwing out plays to the players, clapping your hands hard when you want them to move faster, buzzing around like there is no tomorrow. I will miss our talks, the laughs, the tournaments we did together, you teaching me to shag and all your 20 emails you send me daily. I know how proud you are of what you built with the NC Gaters, you beamed every time you came into your gym. You built a legacy and your Gater Family will keep the fire burning in your memory. I miss you Vic ---Rest now --I am sure you have your hands on a basketball. keep an eye on all of us.

We are so very sad to hear about Vic's passing. Although we haven't been in touch for many years, we still have very fond memories of Vic. We remember his humor and his wonderful musical talents. He was like a big teddy bear and was loving and giving to all who knew him. He played the guitar and sang at our wedding 21 years ago at St. Pius and it made our wedding so special. We will miss him and we pray that God gives you comfort and strength during this difficult time.

We were so saddened to read about Vic's death in Thursday's edition of the newspaper. We were introduced to Vic back in the early 1990s through the Guilford YMCA and Allstar basketball team. Vic's time on this earth impacted my family so positively thru these programs. We could never forget him even though we had not seen him in years - nor would we ever want to forget him. He was unforgettable because of all his positive influences on the lifes of our children. His short 46 years on this earth made a huge impact on many, many youth and their families. He will definitely be missed.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family as you face his passing. The world is a much better place because of Vic's selflessness.
