My condolences go out to the Sidorenko family. I knew Victor, way back when, at camp when I was still growing up in Montreal and often at St Sophie's Cathedral before I moved to Toronto and lost contact. I was saddened to learn of his recent passing.

Dear Walter - I was saddened to learn of the recent passing of your brother. I believe Victor was once a substitute teacher or doing a stage as a teacher at Maisonneuve School - way back when. (In case you are having a problem placing me, I used to live in the lane on Gascon Street when we were kids). My sister, Ruthie, joins me in sending our heartfelt condolences to you and your family at this time. Rubeta Langley - LaSalle, Quebec

Dear Irene, Stephan, Taras and families,
Although many years have passed since I spoke with you(Irene)and Vic, news of Victor's passing caused time to stand still for me. I reflected on our school years and the years that we knew you because you lived in the neighborhood. The kindness that the both of you extended to my aging mother will never be forgotten. I'm reminded that nothing stays the same forever .... but memories are passed on from generation to generation. It is apparent that Victor is loved by many. May this comfort all of you. Please accept the condolences of my family and I in the loss of your Victor.

Dear Irene, Pani Tatiana, and family: Such a great loss of such a great guy, taken much too early. I guess God needed Victor more than we did. My fondest memories are from camp over 40 years ago - I can still see Victor stradling the top of the the newly-built dam, creating the lake. He was a gem. Vichnaya Pamyat.

Dear Irene, Taras, Stephan and Family
You certainly have my sympathy and condolences, that is a given. But being a close friend for years you also have my friendship and support during the difficult days to come. I know you are a very strong and close family and admire that very much. So I know that you will comfort each other and make life tolerable as his real life presence fads into precious memories. I loved this incredibly great man who had a human heart as large as the ocean. Victor always made us feel like we were special and treasured each relationship. He made his feelings very visible when he liked you. And his sarcastic sence of humor always poked at you but ever so gently and always with a wide grin and smile. He would do anything for those he accepted as true friends. I had shared many many memories and laughs with Victor that will always remind me of why we all loved and appreciated him so much. The UKE BUMS in New York cherished his friendship and always looked forward to spending time with him especially on our annual international fishing trips to Vermont at Victor's cottage. I think most know that Big SID was an accomplished artist as well as a gourmet chef. So talented; he particularly impressed and wowed us all with the meals he made for us during our Vermont fishing trips. I personally attended this international fishing trip each year for 26 years; each time for 3-5 days. Victor made a different soup every day of our fishing trip never once repeating a recipe. There was never a soup we would not have eaten for weeks; always delicous and fresh. And the meals the same; different and delicous every day. He put a lot of effort planning and then preparing these incredible meals. I can still taste the most memorable meal of all; pheasant with a sauce to die for. Wish I had all his recipes. But now our fellow colleague and friend is fishing and cooking far above us with that grin and smile that says glad to have known you all. He was such a precious treasure.

Dear Irene and Family:
Your dear husband and father was a special man in all the good ways. Like Danny and Gordon, I don't think he'd want you to weep for him but to remember him with thoughts of peace and to live each day with your heart.
"Grieve not for him though he is gone, you're never far apart."
With my deepest sympathy, Janet

I first met Victor in 1993. His human qualities were immediately felt.
Since, I grew to appreciate the man as a colleague, a close friend and a mentor. His loss is like the that of a brother.
He will be missed by many.
Too soon......much too soon.
