Our line celebrated the chartering of our chapter, Kappa Eta on the campus of UWM this past June. The chapter turned 50 on June 3rd, 2023. There is not a day, hour, minute, second that "Lil Bit", Victoria Jordan Easterling is not thought of. Those of us who were able to attend said her name in prayer. Shared memories of time spent with her on the campus and after. Her laughter, her smile always made us feel a sense of joy and sisterhood. No one that is truly loved and has given love is forgotten. Victoria remains in our hearts forever. She was first in line, first to walk the gardens of heaven, first to adorn the wings of an Angel. Always In Vision and Only A Thought Away.

Mrs. Easterling I had no idea, and I'm sure im not the only person that wanted to be there to be a part of your home going but didn't know. But what I do know is that I will definitely miss yo and that big smile that you gave me and everyone else. You inspired me many days, and I know you know it. My deepest sympathies to the Easterling family. As you cope with the loss of Victoria, may the fond memories shared bring comfort during this time of grief and pain. “He is healing the broken hearted ones, and is binding up their painful spots.” (Psalms147: 3)

Miss E.
It's been a month and 10 days since you passed on to Glory. I laugh because you would always say Glory. I remember you from the Lift Every Voice Program and grew further into knowing you in high school. You stayed helping others and doing for others on a constant basis. You made it your goal to serve God and show your love for him by spreading the gospel. I can honestly say you were a great mentor and teacher. I will miss you so, so much.

I knew Vicki for over 20 years and she was always moving straight ahead. Even last fall when we taught together at PRCC. She was focused and straight ahead. Such inner resolve and stength, I have not witnessed very often. Children, bask in your mom's awesome legacy. Know that she loved you more than life.

My Corner Of The World Will Continue to Shine Brighter For Knowing "Lil Bit'. I knew Vickie from Racine. I was so pleased when we both ended up pledging Delta Sigma Theta. Her laugh and her grin was so infectious, that when she was around all was well. Whenever she came to Los Angeles, she never failed to call me. Her earthly body is no longer with us, but her SPIRIT IS ALIVE. To the Family Of My Sands, My Sister. I say to you All, Have Not A Heavy Heart, for she is now an ANGEL OF GOD and will watch over us all. And for that I am so grateful, and feel so blessed.

What a dreamer, who accomphised much!!! A great friend! I will miss our early Sunday mornings converations (this was the one time I knew I could catch up with her). Thank you Victoria, for your inspiration, godly insight, and for being my best cheerleader. I knew you had my back. Victoria was a loyal person, who loved her family. Trey, Marlena, and Latoria God gave you guys a wonderful mother. She loved fiercely and nothing but the best would do for her family. Marvin, she was a wonderful wife, partner and helpmeet. Even up to the end, she was planning what she would do for the summer and in her retirement. A wonderful example of God's goodness, mercy and blessings. The angels are truly rejoying over this one.

To the Easterling Family, please know that my life is more full because I knew Vicky (or, as we called her on line #1 Little Bit). Her tenacity and awesome ablity to lead and allow others to do the same, was refreshing and a welcomed breath of fresh air; on the first Line of Delta Sigma Theta @ UWM's campus in 1974. Vicky truly tipiafied what Delta Women are, womem of Love, Sistrehood & Service. I will never forget our last conversation, it ended in prayer for a speddy recovery & God's Perfect Will. This world is a better place because Vicky worked to make it so. I will miss my Soror, & friend. Blessings to you all. I offer my sincerest condolences to Dr. Easterling's family. My first year teaching was at Hattiesburg High in 2007-2008 and I taught with Dr. Easterling. She was the most courageous woman I have ever met! She was at school and teaching those kids when most of us would have been in bed wallowing. I always loved to see what her new hairstyle was gonna be. Although I haven't seen her in several years, I will be sadden by this loss. However, those who knew her can take comfort knowing that she is sitting in the presence of the Lord God Almighty! We shall meet again.

Below is the poem that I had written for Dr. E, a few days before our spring class was to end. As I stated before, she was the best in my book. She will always remain in my heart.
Mrs. E
From the first day in your class, we knew
There was something special about you.
Not only are you a kind and gentle teacher
You are a woman of very strong will too!
You never let your illness stand in your way
Nor have you let it get you down.
You always have a pretty smile on your face,
We have never even seen you frown.
Teachers of your kind, are such a very few,
For one to possess all of these characteristics;
They would have to be just like you.
So if we were asked to name one thing that you
Have taught us, it would have to be;
Anyone can be a teacher, but not
Everyone can be a, Mrs. E

To the Jordan and Easterling family, Mickey was the epitome of just what a Proverbs 31 Women should be. She walked it, she talked it, and most of all she lived it. There was no doubt in her mind that Jesus is the answer to all that comes upon us and to all that troubles us. She was truly a living testimony and a example to us all. May God's love hold, comfort and keep you through these difficult times, Be Blessed in Jesus Name.

A Reminiscence
YES, thou art gone! and never more
Thy sunny smile shall gladden me;
But I may pass the old church door,
And pace the floor that covers thee.
May stand upon the cold, damp stone,
And think that, frozen, lies below
The lightest heart that I have known,
The kindest I shall ever know.
Yet, though I cannot see thee more,
'Tis still a comfort to have seen;
And though thy transient life is o'er,
'Tis sweet to think that thou hast been;
To think a soul so near divine,
Within a form so angel fair,
United to a heart like thine,
Has gladdened once our humble sphere.

I remember Victoria as "Mickey". We played "Countryjack" which was a ballgame back in the day. in the (1960"s) We also said she had eyes like "Endora" from the Bewitch series. (in the 1970's) Then as adults we talked about where we were now compared to where we came from. We shared info and gave each other encouraging words while she was getting ready to farther her education. I thank God for the memories I have of TeeLee, Pete, and Mickey. To her family continue looking to the hill whence cometh your help. Lean on Jesus.
