Victoria McCleland Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 28, 2025.
Victoria Elizabeth McCleland, 30, passed away on May 15, 2025, in Berkley, California. Born on September 16, 1994, in Hayward, California, Victoria brought light and joy to those around her through her vibrant spirit, deep curiosity, and boundless love.

Victoria graduated from Arroyo High School in 2012, where she discovered a love for culinary arts during her junior year through the ROP program. Her passion for learning continued at Chabot College, where she pursued dual majors in psychology and theater arts-fields that reflected both her intellectual curiosity and her expressive soul.

Throughout her life, Victoria explored a variety of career paths. Among her favorite roles were working in respite care, where she provided compassionate support to others; loading packages with FedEx; and serving as a sales representative for System Pavers. Each position allowed her to connect with people in meaningful ways and showcase her dynamic personality.

Victoria was a woman of many passions. She was an artist at heart-painting, wood burning, drawing, and writing were among the many creative outlets she embraced. Music held a special place in her life, especially when she played the guitar. Her interests spanned far and wide: from Greek mythology to the Star Wars universe, from Disney classics to Lord of the Rings and anime. She delighted in collecting Funko Pops over the years and had recently begun collecting Labubu figures. Her enthusiasm for stories-whether historical or fictional-was infectious. She went down a rabbit hole of research after reading something intriguing and loved sharing those discoveries during long conversations with her father about movies and celebrity lives.

Faith was the cornerstone of Victoria's life. Raised in the church and educated at a Christian school through ninth grade, she maintained a close relationship with God throughout her journey. She found strength and guidance through prayer, scripture study, and spiritual exploration. Her favorite Bible passage was Ephesians 6:10-18, which speaks of the armor of God-a reflection of the strength she carried within.

Above all else, Victoria's greatest joy was being a mother. Her son Daniel Ramos-McCleland was the center of her world and the source of her deepest pride. Her devotion to him was unwavering and filled with love.

Victoria is lovingly remembered by her Mother Cheryl McCleland Lewis; Father Tommy McCleland; brother Christopher McCleland; Granfather Harold (Nagene) O'Neal, stepfather Robert Lewis; Her Stepmother Dawn McCleland, Stepsiblings Stephenie, Andrea, Nick and Devon Aiassa. Her son Daniel Ramos-McCleland; Aunt Melody (David) Tunison, Grandmother Bonnie Alexander, co-parent and best friend Lilly Ramos. Her Uncle Earl (Wendy) Hicks, Uncle Robert "Bob" (Maria) Hicks, Aunt Stephanie (David) Costa and her Aunt Janet O'Neal. Also, many cousins who loved her dearly. Victoria is preceded in death by her grandmothers Charlene Gfellers-McCleland and Patricia Wiggins.

Those who knew Victoria will remember her as fun-loving, intelligent, fiercely loyal, and full of heart. She embraced life with wonder and shared that wonder generously with others. Whether through a thoughtful conversation, a shared laugh over fandoms, or a quiet moment of prayer, she left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

May her memory bring comfort to those who loved her and continue to inspire all who carry her spirit forward. A Funeral Service will be held on June 7, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 02:30 PM at Jess C. Spencer Mortuary and Crematory 21228 Redwood Rd. Viewing at 10 to 11am. The service will begin at 11am. Reception will follow immediately after service at the funeral home.

Victoria. Tori. Tor. The last message I sent you was telling you that I think of you when I listen to OutKast. But I also think of you when I see blue teddy bears, or the lion king, movie theaters and Django unchained. Orange juice by Noah khan, reminds me of you even though I don´t know if you ever got the chance to hear it. I think you would like it. You were the first person I met in Cali that wasn´t related to family. There was one day that You showed up at my job with a blue teddy bear and then drove me to the hospital when I told you I knocked myself out riding my bike to work. We walked parks and drove around in your jeep and window shopped at target. Shortly after I had to move back to Florida. But we stayed in touch as best as we could with our busy lives. I´m so grateful for the time we had. Thank you for being you. Thank you for being my friend.
