My sincere condolences to Mrs. Black and Gregori. I studied Kajukenbo under Vince in the early 80s at Asian Fighting Arts in San Diego. He was a life-changing teacher to me, both brutal and gentle, stern yet kind. An amazing man. We won't see his like again.

Deeply saddened to hear about Vince's passing, I am only now learning about it. We went to acupuncture school together and he introduced me to Sijay Emperado since I was a kung fu teacher at the time. Great person whom I looked up to and admired a great deal.

I am so saddened to hear of his passing.... he seems too young!
I still to this day tell the tails of one of the best healers I've had the blessing and honor to experience... Vince Black! I say he was a master of 5 internal martial arts (so I was told) that he actually knew how to move his chi into my body for healing. I can still recall the mystical electric feeling surging thru my body from his hands. Remarkable human being with tremendous compassion. As a facilitator of healing myself I learned kinesthetically from him while I recieved... a definite uplevel of my skills for life. Thank you Vince

He was my KAJUKENBO Martial Arts Instructor on 14th st. & Market back in 1984-89 in San Diego, CA. It was an honor to have been one of his young students. I owe him my black belt. I will miss him along with Sifu Adriano Emperado, which he also was my instructor. He will always be remembered.

Just heard of Vince passing and although more than 25 years since I last saw him, will never forget what he did for me as a patient and student. Condolences to Kim,his family and all of the special people who shared his brilliance as a master healer and martial artist without equal at his North Park Health Center in San Diego prior to his return to Arizona.

What a great man, he could tear you a part and then put you back together again. And he always made sure he did. I was lucky to have known such a great teacher and friend. May your light burn throughout eternity. Condolences to family, friends and followers. He will be missed.

I knew Vince since 4th grade growing up in Ogdensburg, New York.
He and I became best friends thru 11th grade when I moved away.
He has always remained in my thoughts...I even used his name for for passwords.
I will miss him....
He was special, and reading these various notes confirms.

What a vibrant man with a great sense of humour. Vince was a healer. He and his students repaired my out the back shoulder dislocation that had been repeatedly damaged by western doctors and physio therapists. I still laugh about my acupuncture experience with him and other things during martial arts sessions. The volume of information he taught freely was overwhelming for me. He was in my memory also tough and pragmatic as a teacher. My sincere condolences. Chris...

I was dismayed to just now hear of Vince's passing - WAY too young. I studied with him many years ago, and remember him with affection and much respect. My condolences to his family for your loss. Though I am grateful to hear that he had a wonderful family, my heart breaks for you as well.

I would like to add that I would be most grateful if I could attend the memorial service and pay my respects to Vince.I would be traveling from Yuma to Tucson so the time and the location of the service would help. If it is only open to immediate family I understand and my prayers go out to all of you.

I was saddened yesterday to hear that Vince had passed away. I remember when his family moved to Yuma. Vince was in my class at KOFA, we had many mutual friends and did much together for several years.
Terrific guy, fine family and I could tell you some interesting and heroic stories about Vince back then but I won't interject them here.

I was deeply saddened to read about the passing of Vince. Had not seen him in quite awhile, but will always carry great memories of him from visits to mutual friends in Tucson. My prayers go out to him and all of his family at this difficult time. Tucson will not be the same.

Vince was my first martial arts teacher and introduced me to a vast wealth of knowledge. He was the real deal. He was so much fun to be around, never a dull moment. He had a deep love of people and I saw him attempt to help and heal countless people in the short time our paths crossed. He and his family are in my prayers. I would like to attend the memorial service, if the time and address could be posted.

Kim and family,
Very very sad to hear about Vince....we are forever grateful for his work with Jacqueline ..it has made a huge difference in her life. She is now 21 and thriving. Irene passed in October at age 86...the only comfort I get right now is Vince with her ..as us she respected him so much.
