Vince Paoletti was born in Steubenville, OH on May 15, 1941. He grew up in Beach Bottom and Warwood, WV. He attended Corpus Christi Grade School and Central Catholic HS in Wheeling WV. After graduating, he earned a degree in Education from West Liberty State College in 1963 and received his Master's Degree in Education Administration from West Virginia University in 1968. During this time, he met his future wife Sandy Jewett, who he married in 1962. They had two children, Jennifer (Yates) of McMechen, WV and Chris of Denver, CO.
Vince began his teaching career in 1963 at Central Catholic followed by Union High School in Benwood. He became principal at Cameron High School at the age of 27. Four years later he accepted a position at John Marshall HS in Glendale, WV as Assistant Principal and moved to Head Principal a few years later. He served John Marshall High School for 20 years, and we are very proud of the dedication he put into this position. As his family, we are so honored by the thousands of students and colleagues he had the privilege to know and impact their lives as a friend and mentor. Vince retired from Marshall County Schools as Assistant Superintendent in 1996. He was named the Principal of the Year in 1985 and led John Marshall to be named as a US Department of Education School of Excellence 1989 and is also a member of the John Marshall Wall of Fame and Athletic Hall of Fame. Additionally, he served as the President of WV Principal's Association, the WV Secondary Schools Activity Commission (WVSSAC), the Ohio Valley Athletic Conference (OVAC), and was a board member of the Upper Ohio Valley Italian Festival, and a member of the Moundsville Country Club. In 2001 Vince married Ann Powers; they moved to Corrales in 2002 where they were very happy and Vince continued with his lifetime hobbies of golf and wood working. He crafted many fine pieces for his home and for the homes of many family members.
Vince is preceded in death by his mother, Angelina (Patella) Paoletti, his father Domenic Paoletti, wife Sandy, brother Domenic Paoletti II, and grandson, Luke Yates. His loving family includes his wife Ann in Corrales, NM, daughter Jennifer and her husband George Yates, grandchildren Shannon in Myrtle Beach, SC and Zack in Benwood, WV with wife Lindsey and great granddaughter, Riley. Also, his son Chris and wife Connie, grandchildren Aidan a student at the University of Oklahoma and Sandra a student at Washington University St Louis (WashU), brother-in-law Gilbert Haller and sister-in-law Patty Jewett and many nieces and nephews.
