Vincent Geiger Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 6, 2025.
Vince Geiger, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend and neighbor, passed away suddenly on July 30, 2025, at the age of 77. When his heart stopped, ours shattered.

Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Vince served in the U.S. Army for "2 years, 9 months, 6 days" before graduating from The Ohio State University. He went on to work for Dow Chemical for over 30 years, a career that took him and his family across five states and gave him lifelong friendships and experiences.

Vince was humble, funny, loyal, and endlessly capable. He couldn't sit still - always working on a project - and could build or repair just about anything. He loved construction, DIY projects, a well-kept lawn, and ice cream. But above all, he loved his family, especially his grandkids.

He is survived by his wife Lois, to whom he was married for 50 years. Together, they lived in six states, built beautiful homes, and raised a family they were proud of. He was a devoted father to Trey (Vincent Henry III), wife Missy, children Noah, Georgia, and Sloane of Toronto, Canada, and Courtney Ladewig, husband Brian, children Spencer and Harris of Dallas, Texas. Vince was deeply proud of his children and his five grandchildren, who adored their Grandpa/PopPop.

He is also survived by his sister Elizabeth Collins (Matt) of Crystal Lake, IL; brothers Michael Geiger of Daytona Beach, FL, David Geiger of Ada, OH, and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bill and Roxie Miller of Atlanta, GA, and sister-in-law Julie Johnson of Anderson, IN. He will be missed by his many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virginia and Vincent Geiger Sr.

To know Vince was to be helped by him - often without even asking. Whether building something from scratch or repairing something broken, he loved to lend a hand. He showed his love through action. No task was too big or too small.

His loyalty, humility, positivity, and endless work ethic inspired those around him. As he always said: "Be positive." We will try.

Very sorry to hear this sad news. I only knew Vince for a short time in Atlanta. We both were new hires into Dow Chemical.

I am a neighbor in Dallas and many of us walk in the mornings and evenings and I got to know Vince and Lois. These tributes show what a really fine man we have lost. They were a lovely couple and such a team. There was a generosity about Vince and a life so well lived. Blessings to Lois and the family. We will miss you Vince. Jane Kellogg

Dear Geiger Family,
I am so sorry learn of your loss of Vince. He was and is such a positive force for Family and Friends. We worked closely together in Midland MI during the 1980's and beyond. He was always there as a mentor and to lend an ear to his colleagues. I will always remember Vince's tireless work and his skills in dealing with others. I hope you find peace and mending as time moves forward. God bless Vince and thanks for sharing him with us.

I'm so sorry to hear of Uncle Vinny's passing. What an amazing guy. I have so many memories of him--riding his motorcycle, at Six Flags when half of Dow was buzzing that he was going to ask Aunt Lois to marry him, at Cocoa Beach where he had us kids in absolute stitches by pretending he was being attacked by a giant clam (you had to be there). He loved everybody and everybody loved him.

I remember working with Vince at Dow. He was a great guy with a fantastic personality. He sold four rental properties for me. Always took me to McCallisters for lunch. I will miss him. God´s love to his family.

I am so sorry to hear about Vince´s recent passing. My wife Vanessa and I got to know Vince over the last three years as we were recently next-door neighbors with one of his children. What I will most remember about Vince is his incredible aptitude for building things and for taking on practically any kind of home-improvement project, including home building. Our prayers go out to the entire Geiger family.

I had the pleasure of working with Vince. He was a key leader in the Urban Pest Management family. He was a strong supporter of his people and wonderful with customers. He and Lois were also gracious in sharing their hospitality outside of work. I have many fond memories from district and national meetings, customer gatherings and team building events. His passion for life and smile will be missed but not forgotten. My heart aches for Lois and his family. Peace be with you.

I just completed reading the forementioned words about Vince and agree completely with those wonderful and right on comments. Having been with Vince and his brother in law Bill here in Suwanee, Ga a few weeks back, Vince was full of enthusiastic comments about my car collection and he knew how to make people feel good. He was always up and enthusiastic when I was with him. A wonderful guys guy who will be missed by myself. A friend , Art Assad
