I was so honored to meet Mr. Muirhead at his home in Lawrence around the time of the 75th anniversary. Thank you to the daughter(granddaughter?) who allowed me into your home. I shared a story of my father's battery on that one Sunday morning and was regaled with stories from Mr. Muirhead about the attack and his flying later in the war. How he heard the radio chatter telling a flight of bombers to turn around because the Japanese had surrendered.
My condolences to the family.
Rest in peace Sir.

My condolences to the family. My father and Vince were acquaintances thru the aeronautical engineering department at KU. Vincent not only lived a long life but had a very honorable and memorable history to be proud of.
RIP..

Vincent Muirhead was an authentic American patriot, a gentleman, and a scholar. Lawrence and KU benefited greatly from his presence. May he rest in peace.
