Violet Chase Obituary
Jan. 4, 1923 - Nov. 18, 2017
Violet Gregg Chase, 94, passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2017, in Brookfield, CT. She was born in New York City on January 4, 1923, daughter of the late Gerald and Isabel (Henderson) Gregg. She attended the University of Vermont and Western Connecticut State University, and was a graduate of the New Paltz State Teachers College. Violet taught in public schools in New York State, residing in Somers, NY and Mamaroneck, NY, until her retirement in 1974, where she then made her home in Brookfield, CT. In addition to her parents, Violet was predeceased by her sister, Emily Drybrough.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, November 28, 2017, from 8:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, CT. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. at St. James Episcopal Church, 25 West St., Danbury, CT. Burial will follow at Greenwood Union Cemetery, Rye, NY.
Contributions in Violet's name may be made to Danbury Animal Welfare Society, 147 Grassy Plain St., Bethel, CT 06801.
