Violet Gallant Obituary
She was born in Rumford, Maine on October 26, 1928 a daughter of Leo and Dinora (Brochu) Whooley.
Violet was educated in Rumford schools and lived locally all of her life.
She was a homemaker, loving mother, grandmother and aunt.
Violet was an avid Bingo player, card player and she loved playing the slots.
Surviving are her children; Michael T. Gallant and wife Cathy of North Waterboro, Gary L. Gallant and wife Cynthia of Rumford, Lisa D. Abbott of Rumford, and Thomas J. Gallant and wife Tammy of Berlin, NH; a special niece Sharon Byrne of Portland; several other nieces and nephews; and eleven grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Donald Gallant, a daughter Debra Eaton, three sisters, Lorraine Whooley, Lillian Whooley and Leona Byrne, and a brother, Leo "Henry" Whooley.

Lisa, Michael, Gary and Tommy. My condolences on the loss of your Mom. Aunt Violet could always make me smile. Her sense of humor was such a part of who she was. She will be missed. Much Love to you all.

My deepest sympathies to all of you.Violet was my cousin on the Whooley side.Her dad was my Uncle Leo, my mother's brother.I wish we could have spent more time together.I will cherish my memories of spending time with her at her 80th birthday party.I will miss her.

My fondest memories are of the times our families would all get together for a day at the beach, or the state park... carloads of cousins, aunts, uncles... relatives from near and away... a little sunshine... hot dogs on the grill... the air filled with laughter (and a few horseflies). It seemed the world was created solely for us.
Aunt Violet was a part of that, and so, she will always have a spot in my heart.
Mike, Gary, Lisa, and Tom.. I am so sorry for your loss.
