Violet Jean Gribble

Algonquin - Violet Jean Williams Gribble passed from this life to the next as dawn was breaking on March 13, 2024 at age 95. She passed peacefully in the company of her loving family at her home in Algonquin, Illinois. Violet, who preferred to be called Jean, was born on February 3, 1929 to Ruth Bennett Williams and Kenneth A. Williams. Jean was happily married to the love of her life, Bruce Gribble until his passing in 2014. She was happily anticipating being reunited with her beloved Bruce because of their shared faith in Jesus Christ. Jean and Bruce resided in Richville Ohio for over 50 years, where they raised 2 daughters. Jean loved her family more than anything. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, quilting, and all types of crafts. She was equally happy camping, reading, playing canasta, croquet, trying new recipes, or riding a bicycle built for two with Bruce. She was above all a loyal friend, sister, and Mother. She thoroughly enjoyed her role as Grandmother and Great Grandmother to the very end. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Ken, brothers Bob and Ben, many friends, and her husband Bruce. Jean will be missed by all who knew her and most especially by her brother Dick Williams, daughters Karen (Craig) Jackson, Judy (Dave) Deremer, grandchildren, Heather (Matt Benjamin) Jackson, Jeff (Jessi) Jackson, Bailey (Chris) Maher, Erin (Ian) Philpot, Elise (Merrick) Ramza and great-grandchildren, Zoe Jackson, Molly Benjamin, Katy Benjamin, Claire Philpot, Joel Philpot, and Mickey Philpot. Graveside services will be held on Saturday April 6, at 11am at the East Union Cemetery in Navarre.
