Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 7, 2025.
Violet "Vi" Poole (George)

April 9, 1948 - February 2, 2025

Violet "Vi" Poole (née George), age 76, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2025, in Commerce Township, Michigan. Born on April 9, 1948, in Baghdad, Iraq, Vi lived a life filled with love, generosity, and devotion to her family and faith.

Vi is survived by her beloved husband, Michael Poole; her children Danielle (Matthew Compton), Keith Kinney, and Deanna Kinney; her stepchildren Wendy (Steve) Sundeen and Andy (Elizabeth) Poole; and her cherished grandchildren Asher (Meena), Avery, Victoria, Caden, Micah, Keegan, Lilly, Caleb, Liam, and Emersen. She is also remembered fondly by her siblings Richie (Rhonda), Jackie, Chris (Nancy), Mary, Diane, Mark, JR (Claudine) Patrick (Joann), David (Yvonne), and Janie and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Salim and Jalila George and her brother Robin George. She leaves behind many loving friends.

A devoted member of the Catholic Church during her years in Michigan and Virginia, Vi's faith was a cornerstone of her life. Her active participation in church activities reflected her deep commitment to helping others and fostering a sense of community.

Vi's many hobbies brought joy to both herself and those around her. She loved cooking meals made with care for family gatherings. An avid reader and an enthusiastic glass-maker in recent years, she embraced life with curiosity and creativity. Known for her selflessness and nurturing spirit, Vi was always the first to lend a hand to anyone in need. Her natural inclination to care for others earned her the affectionate title of "my rock" among those who knew her best.

Her kindness inspired countless acts of generosity from family and friends alike. Stories abound of how Vi stepped up at just the right moment to offer support or encouragement when it was needed most. Whether she was sharing laughter with loved ones or creating something beautiful in the kitchen or studio, Vi's warmth made every moment brighter.

Vi will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love and compassion will live on through the lives she touched so deeply.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday March 27, 2025 at St. John the Evangelist Church located at 301 Sheppard Court, Waynesboro, VA (22980). The service will begin at 9:00 AM. A reception will follow immediately following the service; all are welcome to attend to celebrate Vi. She requested that bright colors be worn at her celebration of life.

May Violet "Vi" Poole's memory be a source of comfort to all who loved her.

Sooo many memories of Vi and I with our kids as babies, with our husbands, vacationing or chilling or just of she and I since we were back-to-back neighbors when our kids were tots. I will miss her terribly- she was a great friend

Violet and I were 12 when we met. Aunt Mickey was taking her to Hudson's for her first bra and invited me to go along. Now, 65 years later and not sure yet how i will live the rest of my life without my rock! I miss her so much every minute of every day. I'll see you in heaven my friend.

Vi was a wonderful friend to all who knew her. I loved seeing her at the Visi lunches. I didn't know Vi while we were in school. She was a grade below me but I did get to know her quite well after that. She was a dynamo in helping with the reunions that would follow. When her and Mike lived in White Lake it was so wonderful to be invited to their house and enjoy boat rides and good company. She was a wonderful hostess and cook. We will miss you Vi.

I met her at her daughter Danielle's house, she was so sweet and gave me a hug. It meant the world to me because I had just lost my dad and Mom and I was missing their hugs.
