Vi was a Merrimac Legend. She was a neighborhood watch person before they became popular. Growing up in Merrimac we knew Vi was keeping an eye on us and helping us to stay out of trouble. She was often seen walking around town or sitting out on her patio and people would wander over and visit for hours. Vi enjoyed talking with the kids, teens and adults. We enjoyed sharing the back yard borders with Vi & Dale.

I will never forget Vi & her taking care of my 3 boys so I could work being I was a single Mom. She took great care of all the kids she took care of. I don't know what Merrimac would have done without Vi who was always there to babysit and be great friends with like a 2nd Mom to all. RIP VI

Dear Singleton family,

I am deeply saddened to learn of VI's passing... she was always kind and loving and always shared a genuine interest in me and those who were close to her.

I know the emptiness in your hearts and pray that you will all find peace and comfort in the many memories we (you) all share.

My heartfelt sympathy to you all on the loss of your loved one Violet.

Vi was always a good conversationalist. She would come by the Merrimac Communications office and I visited with her many times. She was always in good spirits and brought sunshine with her. She will be missed by many!

Vi `s home was always a safe fun place to be. I will always cherish her kindness and amazing ability to put up with crazy teenagers. Donna (Hein) Olsen
