I was truly saddened to hear of Vi's passing. I grew up in Feeding Hills and left in 1965 to enlist in the Army. Whenever I was home on leave or later for visits I would drive up to Feeding Hills Cir. to say Hi to her when she was doing crossing guard duty.
I remember when Stevie started dating Vie and called him a traitor as West side was Agawam High school's football rival. I remember spending many afternoons at the West Side Fish and Game Club with Vie and the Sleigh family. I also volunteered and work with the Sliech family at the Feeding Hils Polish Club Where Steve Senior put on Clambakes in the back pavilion. I bartended back there and work with Vie cleaning up after them.
I have nothing but happy reflections of my times with the entire Sleich family Especially Billy because Helen and my mother shared a room at Mercy hospital when they delivered us. I remember when Tommy was born and just a little tike running around the fish and game club. Although my condolences are late as I live in Monterey, California and just heard of Vie's passing they are heartfelt and have brought back many happy memories.
God Bless you Kathy, and the family

It is with great sadness that I send this message of condolence. Viola played such an important part of our lives for many, many years. Through her, we became part of her extended family and enjoyed every minute of it. I thank God that we have so many great memories, our years in Clinton with Viola playing cards, bingo, our wedding, and parties will make us smile for years to come. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all....love you.....Sandi and Dave
