Mrs Violet Thompson of Shuttlewood, passed away at Cliff House Nursing Home, aged 88.
Born in Mansfield Woodhouse, she lived locally for 65 years.
Violet was a canteen manageress and a cook at Coalite and Chemicals for about 30 years, retiring in 1994.
She enjoyed holidays, both at home and abroad, dancing, reading, bingo, socialising and spending time with her family.
Violet was predeceased by her husband Norman and was also predeceased by her partner Arthur.
She leaves behind her sons Malcolm and his partner Freda and John and his wife Linda and her grandchildren Kirsty and Nicola and great grandchildren Freddie and Penelope.
