Virginia Angradi Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 8, 2025.
Melbourne Beach - Virginia Faye (nee Van Dyke) Angradi passed away peacefully on February 23, 2025, in Melbourne, Florida, at the age of 89. Virginia, known as Ginny, was born in 1935 in East Canton, Pennsylvania to Davis Eugene and Myrtle Lucille (nee Landon) Van Dyke. Ginny attended the East Canton one-room schoolhouse, Canton Elementary School, and Canton High School (class of 1953). In 1944, the Van Dyke family moved from East Canton to the Minnequa area of Canton Township to take over the Minnequa Apple Orchards. Ginny attended Mansfield (Pennsylvania) State Teachers College (class of 1957). In that year, she married Theodore (Ted) R. Angradi of Glen Lyon, Pennsylvania. The Angradis, both educators, relocated to southern New Jersey where Ginny taught 5th and 6th grades for many years in the Long Beach Island school system. Ginny was predeceased by her parents, her husband Ted, and her sister, Elizabeth Lynne Hertel. She is survived by two sisters, Nancy Kathryn Williammee of Melbourne Beach, Florida, and Susan Jane Schiess, of Canton, Pennsylvania, her son Theodore R. Angradi Jr., and his wife Dee of Duluth, Minnesota, and her daughter Martha Lynne Angradi, of Simpsonville, South Carolina. She is survived by three grandchildren, Augustus and Lincoln Angradi, and Jesse Mclorie. Ginny enjoyed spending time with her sisters and children at the farm at Minnequa. She was an avid tennis player, puzzle solver, and teller of corny jokes. In her last years, nothing gave her more pleasure than to watch the setting Florida sun with a glass of champagne. The family suggests a modest honorary donation to a cause important to Ginny, The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).
