BATES Virginia Adella Schuricht Bates, 88, of Holts Summit died Thursday, March 22, 2007, at Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born February 24, 1919, in Jefferson City, a daughter of William and Hilda H. Schendner Schuricht. She attended Trinity Lutheran School. On June 25, 1936, in Jefferson City Virginia was united in marriage to Albert Richard Bates, who preceded her in death on December 10, 1998. Virginia was a homemaker for most of her life, and had worked for Oberman Manufacturing, Von Hoffman, and Chesebrough-Ponds. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and enjoyed croqueting, gardening, growing flowers, playing cards, and dancing. She is survived by three sons: Albert Bates Jr. and wife Evangelina of Lawton, Oklahoma; Ronald Lee Bates and wife Virginia of Eugene; Daniel Gene Bates and wife Carlene of Holts Summit; nine grandchildren: Lloyd Richard Bates of Lohman; Elizabeth Nanny of Jefferson City; Albert Bates III of Avendale, Arizona; John Bates of Lawton, Oklahoma; Kimberly Bates of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Sha-tel Espinales-Ashcraft of Eugene; Dale Bates of Jefferson City; Rick Bates of Lohman; Amanda Locke of Holts Summit; 19 great grandchildren; and one sister, Venita Brunner of Jefferson City. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Elizabeth "Mamie" Propst. Friends will be received from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Saturday at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 25, 2007, at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. John Hobratschk and Rev. Dr. Milan Weerts officiating. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church. Arrangements are under the direction of HOUSER-MILLARD Funeral Directors, 2613 W.
