Virginia was a wonderful teacher at Central Catholic H.S. I'll never forget her telling us about seeing an atomic bomb explode in the New Mexico desert. She returned from the experience a different woman. I could see it deeply upset her. She loved all her students. It was a joy to have known her at CCHS 1962 to 1966. May she rest in peace.

When first starting out at Fort Lee high School, Mrs. Nelson yelled at me because I came in late, and she thought that I had an attitude. However when we spoke to on anther we had a very good relationship between teacher and a student. She was one of the kindest people I have met and I will greatly miss her.

My sincerest condolences to the family.
Miss Illuzzi was a blessing to all of us at Reading Central Catholic High School. At a time when the only girls' sport was basketball, she started a bowling club. She got the people who owned the bowling lanes to bring a bus to the school to get us there. She also got a bus so that we could get to tournaments in other towns. She even made the ride there very enjoyable by playing games on the bus. She was a wonderful person. She honored me by giving me an award at graduation in 1966. She also came to state basketball games. What an inspiration she was to so many young people. God blessed us by sending her to our school. My prayers go out to her family.

I have fond memories of Ms. Belson as my gym teacher at FLHS in the mid-80s. She was always kind, friendly, and cheerful, even with the toughest students. I can still hear her voice saying, "Yes, sweetie...okay, honey" whenever someone asked her something, and loved how she would correct salty language: "Say sugar." May she rest in peace.

My husband worked with Mrs. Belson at Fort Lee H.S. Every September, she would get him a birthday cake from Baskin Robbins. She always asked after our children. She would remind him that the students were "all God's children." My husband remembers her fondly as one of the greatest women he has ever known. Our deepest sympathies...
