I was working at Holy Family Hospital the year the Bears won the Super Bowl. The employees at the hospital were so excited to be a part of festivities celebrating the Bears win. Ed and Virginia McCaskey attended mass at the hospital chapel on Sundays. The McCaskeys were always there to help with hospital fundraisers. It was a privilege to have known Ed and Virginia McCaskey. They were kind and caring people. My condolences to the Halas and McCaskey families.

I would speak with Mrs. McCaskey several times a week at the Lattof YMCA. She knew that I was a Bears season ticket holder and she would ask if I had been at the game on Sunday and we would talk about the result win or lose. She always had a smile for me and was so nice.

My name is Alisa Fallon. I am 25 years old and was a Des Plaines resident for 16 years. In 2014, I won the NFL´s Punt Pass and Kick competition and represented the Chicago Bears. Mrs. McCaskey was kind enough to invite me and my family to her home for a personal congratulations. This is one of the greatest memories of my childhood. Her grace and humility was very inspiring. She provided our family of dedicated Bears fans with an unforgettable experience. Thank you to the McCaskey family for sharing your beloved Virginia with us all. May she rest in eternal peace.

Her friendship, grace and kindness to me over the years will always be remembered. I was fortunate and lucky to have met her several times and each time she knew me on sight and greeted me warmly. A rare woman who defined respect and integrity. Virginia Halas McCaskey lived her life to the fullest and I for one, will never meet another like her.

She was more than an owner of the Chicago Bears. Football was her family´s business and stepped in to her role when she was needed. She helped the team to win, winning a Super Bowl and became the longest living NFL team owner. Condolences to the McCaskey family. May God be with you in your time of loss.

The last link connecting the past to the present has now left us with a hole never to be filled. May she join her dad her husband, children, and all the Bear greats that have passed to the big field in the sky. Her voice while quiet will still be heard.
Very Simply,
Thank You
