Virginia Lorene Smith

Virginia Lorene Smith, 72 of Rock, WV died Monday, July 13, 2020 at her residence. Born May 26, 1948 in Christiansburg, VA she was the daughter of the late Henry Jackson Rose and Thelma Weis Rose. She was retired from the maintenance department at Princeton Community Hospital and formerly worked at Maidenform, Inc. in Princeton. Virginia enjoyed all sports especially football and was an avid WVU fan. Virginia also enjoyed camping, fishing and many outdoor activities.  She especially loved her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Barbara Pruitt; two brothers, James Rose and Tony Rose; and one sister, Reatha Dickerson. Survivors include her husband, Roger Lee Smith of Rock; one son, Jeffrey Lee Walls and wife Shannon of Princeton; one daughter, Sharon Kay Myers and husband Jerry of Winston Salem, NC; one son-in-law, Eddie Pruitt of Princeton; three grandchildren, Alexis Walls, Matthew Pruitt, and Stephen McKinney;  one great granddaughter, McKenzie Paige McKinney; four sisters, Rachel Persinger and husband Sonny of Clifton Forge, VA, Elsie Caldwell and husband Saford of Blacksburg, VA, Linda Monk and Debbie Conner and husband Ray all of Princeton; and one brother, Kenny Rose and wife Sharon of Princeton. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00PM, Thursday, July 16, 2020 at the Fairview Christian Community Church in Princeton with Rev. Larry Dyer officiating.  Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call at the church from 12:00 Noon until the service hour on Thursday.
