Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 2, 2025.
Virginia T. Williamson (Tortorelli) of Indialantic, Florida died peacefully May 26, 2025, at the Vitas Inpatient Hospice in Rockledge, Florida. Virginia was born in Yonkers, New York on March 22,1941 to Alfred Anthony Tortorelli and Mary D. Nardelli. She attended St. Barnabas Schools and received her bachelor's and master's degrees from Hunter College CUNY. She was a gymnastics and dance teacher with the White Plains School district for 37 years. Her dedication and love positively affected thousands of students.

She was an avid lover of dance, frequently taking modern dance classes at the 92nd street YMCA. She loved NYC for its art; Broadway plays and culture. She prized her Italian tapestries, fine china, skiing in Colorado and travelling to Bali and Europe.

She relocated to Indialantic, Florida in 2017 to spend time with her brother Alfred F. Tortorelli and his wife, Noel, (both recently deceased). Since retirement she spent many hours with her beloved toy poodle, Emily, who was her constant companion.

Virginia is survived by her four sisters: Janet Tinari, Lucille McCue, Barbara Boden Kimble, and Catherine Pugliese, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

A private memorial service is planned in New York.

Gifts can be made in her name to the Vitas Inpatient Hospice Center at Rockledge 5425 S. US1 Rockledge, Florida 32955.

Will always remember Aunt Ginnie´s Christmas parties with the family, her love of her little poodle Emily who was always by her side and her many generations of Honda Accords. Greatest Godmother I could have asked for. Will miss you Aunt Ginnie. RIP

Ginnie was a good person who opened her own doors and the doors of the world for me and others. Good smile. Great laugh. Strong energy. Thinking about her...

Ginnie was my volleyball coach in 1971! We stayed in touch over the years, and Ginnie visited me in St Croix, the years I taught school there. She opened up her home to my son and his wife in White Plains, and we all have fond memories of her kindness and love of life.
I´m sure Ginnie is dancing with the angels and has God´s loving around wrapped around her! May her full life be a comfort to her beloved family.
