Vitulli, Vito Nicola M.D. OB/GYN Age 86, March 22, 1927 - February 12, 2014, of Oconomowoc and formerly of South Milwaukee. Beloved husband of the late Virginia Lucille (nee Dawicki). Loving father of Mary Jo Wilkinson (Kenneth), Joseph Paul Vitulli, Kathryn Ann Vitulli (fiancé Gary Schroeder), Gina Marie Vitulli, Angela Jean Hamilton (Gary), and his special baby girl, Vita Vitulli. Dearest grandfather of Christina, Nicholas, Michael, Celeste, Isabella, Samuel, Gabriella, Francesca, Olivia and Dominique. Devoted son of Giuseppe and Giovanna (nee Parente), and Antonetta (nee Quaranta). Dear older brother of Donald (Frances), Thomas (Marie), the late Angelo (Maria Lucrezia), John (late Carol), Grace (Anthony) Sgaramella. Dear brother-in-law of Betty Dawicki (late Gregory). Survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, former patients, colleagues and countless friends and neighbors. Vito immigrated with his mother and 3 siblings from Mola Di Bari, Italy on the S.S. Rex. He arrived at The Port of New York on October 1, 1936, where he was reunited with his father Giuseppe, who had already become a U.S. citizen. The family resided in Chicago. He was drafted into the U.S. Army on Aug. 20, 1945 and served in Panama. He was a graduate of Eastern Illinois University and Marquette University School of Medicine, 1957. He met his future wife Virginia "Ginny" (an RN at Muirdale TB Sanatorium), and after their first date he knew she was "the one". They married on June 15, 1957. He served his residency at St Joseph's Hospital, was Chief of Staff at Trinity Memorial, and on staff at St Francis and St Luke's Hospitals. Dr. Vitulli delivered over 8,000 beautiful babies into this world, and still in recent years remembered most all of his former patients by name. As Patriarch of the Vitulli family, he treasured and adored his family most of all. Vito loved his time at his lake cottage in Rhinelander with his family. A man of unending generosity and unfathomable knowledge, a teacher to all, and even in his final days he mentored the nurses who cared for him. We will all miss his wit, humor, off colored jokes, singing, amazing cooking and of course his famous card tricks. The Vitulli family would like to extend a special warm "thank you" to the many doctors and nurses who had provided such dedicated and compassionate care. Rest in peace Dad! Rest in peace Grandpa! We love you and will miss you every day! Oh yeah and .."When do we eat around here"? Visitation, Tuesday February 18, 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Molthen-Bell Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial at Divine Mercy Parish, 800 Marquette Ave., South Milwaukee, WI 53172 on Wednesday, February 19. Visitation at church from 11:00 AM until time of Mass. Rosary, Wednesday February 19, at church at 10:30 AM.

Vito delivered all 4 of my children and mentored me when I was a nursing assistant, student and LPN at Trinity Memorial Hospital. There are not enough words to express what a wonderful person he was.

Dr. Vitulli delivered 5 of my children. Would have delivered my 6th if he wouldn't have retired on me! I moved to Muskego with my 4th but still drove to Trinity Memorial for my appointments and delivery on Feb 12th 1984. Unfortunately she only lived 10 days. He was the best! I often wondered what he was up to after he retired. As one woman said he was like a big teddy bear. He always gave me big hugs. I loved his sense of humor. He was an excellent doctor.

My deepest sympathies to Dr. Vitulli's family. Growing up just a few blocks away from the Vitullis, I was always treated as part of the family. He and his wonderful family made everyone feel welcome. The man was a rock and incredibly strong. He'd camp with us in Boy Scouts and he'd carry two back packs and two canoes alone while portaging. Thanks for some great memories. With my condolences and prayers,

Dear Vitulli family, It was an honor for me to have been called on that snowy day, to Memorial Hospital in Oconomowoc and pray with you all and administer the Sacrament of the Sick to your father. He went to Heaven on my birthday. A consoling birthday present for me, indeed. It was his birthday into eternal life. God bless you all!

I am so sorry for your loss. Dr. Vitulli delivered all 4 of my children. He was a very caring and compassionate man. I felt very safe and comfortable in his care. He was like a big teddy bear! My late husband was a surgical assistant at Trinity Memorial and assisted Dr. Vitulli with many surgical procedures. How blessed he was to have such a loving family. He will be missed. May he rest in peace.

Dr. Vitulli was my doctor, and he delivered all 4 of my children. He was so personable-made you feel like you knew him all your life. I had such trust in him, as my first babies (twin boys), I lost, while under the care of another doctor . My heart goes out to his family, as I'm sure it will be such a terribled loss to you. You really can be proud of him, as he was so loved.

My deepest sympathy on your loss.....my daughters were two of the babies he delivered. He was one of the best....compassionate, caring and always knew how to make you smile. When I had my oldest, he broke the news to my husband with this remark, "you have an 8 or 9 pound broad" . I still smile when I think of that. They broke the mold with him.. He was one of the best. Godspeed Dr. V., you will be missed!
