Obituary
Guest Book
Mrs. Vivian Price Mitchell departed this life in a peaceful sleep Sunday morning, October 3, 2022, at her residence in Petersburg, Virginia. She was born June 20, 1952, to the late Clarence and Lillian Price. She was preceded in death by her loving and faithful husband, Larry Mitchell; sister, Yvonne Burnette and her brothers, Clarence Jr., Ronney and Alonzo.
After thirty-one years of dedicated work with the United States Postal Service, Vivian retired to enjoy life with her husband. She was an exceptional and bright learner in school as well as other areas of her life. She graduated from Dinwiddie High School in 1970. She furthered her education at Virginia State College. In high school and college, Vivian showcased her agility as a dancer through cheerleading and as a majorette. Not only was she a talented dancer, she excelled at sewing and made numerous garments for herself and others throughout the years. Not only was she a talented seamstress, but she was an exceptional cook. She even taught her husband and son to be her sous-chefs. No dish was too complex for her skilled hands, and she even catered various events. She was even able to analyze another cook's dish and recreate the dish at her home.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her devoted son, Larry L. Mitchell; stepdaughter, Kimmy Coleman; her brother, Theodore, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Among her devoted friends are Sadarius Lewis and Michele Coles-Lewis.
Viewing for Mrs. Mitchell will be held from 9:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M., Sunday, October 9, 2022 at the funeral establishment. Services will be private.
