Kathy, although Dale's passing was in the distant past, memories of him remain present. I happened to be going through old emails and stumbled upon one I had sent mutual friends with a link to Dale's obituary. The thought of Dale made me smile. Dale and I were graduate students at SFU, and our research laboratories were adjacent to each other. So, Dale and I often crossed paths. Dale and I bonded over a love of the sea. We took a course on Coastal Navigation together, and spent many hours sailing on English Bay and in the Southern Gulf Islands. I share all the good thoughts others have expressed about Dale. I miss him.

Kathy, I got the shocking message from your email in AMMRL. I feel very sorry about that. Dale is really a very nice gentleman. During my stay in LSU he help me a lot and we had a very good time together. I will miss him forever. I wish all the best to you and his family.

Condolences to family on the loss of a real gentleman. We were friends from many years ago, when we were both young Radio Amateurs, here in B.C. He was regarded highly in the Ham community.

Dale and I became friends after seeing him at Starbucks every morning. He became a member of our "coffee club" and we all looked forward to seeing which book or magazine he would bring in. From bonsai trees to the Federalist Papers to Einstein's bio he always had something different. We loved hearing him let out a chuckle or two and his wisecracks were pretty funny (when they weren't over our heads).I will truly miss seeing him there and wish all the best to his family and friends.

Dale was a friend. I admired watching him spend time with the students at LSU and sharing with them during lunch time. His humor was contagious. I laughed just seeing him because his eyes told me that he had something funny to tell me today. He was very intelligent but yet interested in everyone's thoughts and ideas. He will be very much missed! RIP my friend!
