Wade Hampton Bowie, Jr.

Wade and I met in law school and became close friends. I have never met a finer human being in my life. Intellectually engaging, honest, hard working, warm, loyal, and principled. He was a class act all around. Love you Wade. Rest in peace my friend.

Wade was a law school classmate and, later, my colleague at the Douglas County District Attorney's Office. Wade was a joy. My respect for his competence, professionalism, and commitment is beyond words. We sometimes disagreed but never disagreeably, and that was a credit to Wade. I am just heart-broken. My thoughts and prayers go out to Wade's family.

Lt, I will never forget our tour in Vietnam. I will never forget you as your were forty-eight years ago nor will I forget the hard ships we went through, nor will I forget the good times we all had in a distant time call Vietnam. To Wade's whole family, my heart and prayers are with you. Wade was an awesome person and I can't begin to express the amount of help and friendship gave to our whole family. He will be greatly missed. Bless you all.

Wade was a true advocate for children and had a positive influence on the lives of countless kids. His wit and diligence will be missed by those of us who had the opportunity to work with him. Special condolences to his son (my friend) Wade Bowie II.

Wade will be missed more than words can express. Through God's plans, Wade changed many lives just from simply knowing him and through the ripple effect of all he did in this life. I was blessed through working with Wade in Douglas County and experiencing that ripple. Much love and so much respect.

My wife and I were saddened to hear of Wade's passing. I remember, with a big smile, the fun times shared with Wade, his brother and sisters when we were all kids. We lived in different states but my Mother and Daddy enjoyed spending time with Uncle Hamp and Aunt Nora so we got together as often as possible.
After many years of not seeing Wade, I was very happy to visit with him at Bowie reunions in the Eastatoee Valley in Pickens County, South Carolina and a larger Bowie reunion in Abbeville, South Caroline. When asked, Wade shared with Suzanne and me the remarkable stages and achievements of his many careers. He will be fondly remembered and missed. Please know you will all be in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Barbara, so sorry for the loss of your brother.

Wade was one of the most thoughtful and decent men I have had the pleasure of knowing. He was there for those who needed him, and the men who served with him reflected that care.

Wade was always a gentleman, with a kind word for everyone.

He will be missed.

I have good memories of Wade when I was at CMA. May Jesus give you peace and comfort in this time of sadness.
