Best natural athlete I have ever known. Who else could catch the ball carrier from behind, leap into the air, rotate 180 degrees, then tackle the fool into the dirt with just his butt on the man's head.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I didn't know Wade, but as a cyclist myself, I know that a good ride is as close to heaven as we can know on earth. Tailwinds, Wade. You won't be forgotten.

I hadn't seen/spoken to Wade since his family moved to the Dallas area. My experience around him were when I'd come by to visit with his brother Don. Wade had a really old Chevy with really tacky coverings on the seats and doors. But it was a cool car at the time. But what I remember is his kindness and soft-spoken demeanor. I had no clue at the time (late 70s) he had such a photographic talent. He was an exceedingly kind person. And seeing the outpouring sadness of people who knew him and worked with him, that's obviously never changed. May the Lord bring him home and give his family peace.
