Wallace McCarty Obituary
Dixie Community
Wallace Burnette McCarty, 79, passed away May 26, 2016, at his home in Dixie Community. Visitation will be Sunday, May 29, 2016, at Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg from 1 p.m. until the service at 3 p.m.
Mr. McCarty retired from American General Life Insurance Company after 38 years of service. He was a member of Dixie Baptist Church, Hamasa Shrine Temple, the Masonic Lodge, Elks Lodge, NRA and Lions Club.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty McCarty; his daughter, Pam McCarty Thornton; parents, Leonard and Ida Coulter McCarty; his sister, Gertrude Smith; and his brother, Kenneth McCarty.
Survivors include his son, Tony McCarty of Dixie Community; daughter, Sandy McCarty Preston (Tim) of Dixie Community; six grandsons, Lucas Thornton, Landon Thornton, Layton Thornton, Colton Preston, Haydn Preston and Lian Preston, all of Dixie Community; and siblings, Bobby McCarty (Delores) Bogalusa, Earlene Smith of Poplarville, Loretta Lofton of Hattiesburg, Gloria Lofton (James) of Seminary and Anne Adams (Cecil) of Clayton, NC.

Sending sincere sympathy. Burnett was an outstanding person and will be fondly remembered by all that knew him. It is a comfort to know he is in Heaven rejoicing with his and our Heavenly Father and those of his earthly family who preceded him. Our prayers are with those of his family left behind.

Brother WB will be greatly missed. He was a fine man that always put a smile on my face. He was always willing to help me during VBS every year! Lots of love and prayers to the family!
