In the loving care of his wife, Susan, Robert passed peacefully on December 5, 2022, at the age of 68. Born in the Bronx, NY to Jean Rothschild and the late Robert Rothschild. At a young age, Bob and his family moved to Lakewood, NJ, where he graduated from Lakewood High School in 1973, and played on the state champion baseball team. He went on to receive his bachelor’s degree in history from Trenton State College in 1977. Bob was later a resident of Salem, NJ and more recently Washington Township. For eight years he was a pitching coach for Salem High School, where he earned the nickname "Baseball Bob".
In addition to his wife of 20 years, Susan Dowell-Rothschild, Bob is survived by sons, Jason Dowell (Lorna), Christopher Dowell (Shelly), Gregory Dowell (Laura), Matthew Dowell (Nicole), Jonathan Dowell (Allie), Robert Rothschild and Travis Rothschild (Lindsay). Cherished grandfather of Kaitlynn, Sophie, Zachary, Parker, Graham, Connor, and Ridge, and 1 on the way. Beloved brother of Pam Cicerello (Roy), Margaret Alpert (Mickey), Richard Rothschild (Barbara), Cynthia Rothschild and the late Randy Rothschild. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
Bob’s love for his family can be best summed up from a letter he wrote to each of his grandchildren stating “I may not be here for the rest of your life, but I will love you for the rest of mine.”
Services are private at Bob's request.

I'll always remember your beautiful blue eyes and how you seemed to know about most everything ....so extremely intelligent I could ask you any question and you always had an answer.... watching the Yankees will never be the same without you ....I miss our conversations
I hope you & Randy are in your field of dreams
