Walt had a love for life that most of us only dream of having. His smile was contagious and authentic. A true blessing to those he came in contact with.

My deepest love is sent from California. The Kitchen Family brought their love of Alabama and the light of Graces godfather, Walt. I felt as if I knew him and was shaken when I heard of his passing. God may be saying,Roll Tide, Roll with Walt by his side.

Walt could not have had better Parents than Walter and Betsy. A wonderful special young man is a person who lived his life with love and understanding from those surrounding him. Walt loved "pretty girls" and to him, they are all pretty. Such a sweet soul. Unconditional love and acceptance. He taught us all what real love, devotion and dedication looks like. You will be missed, Walt.

Walt was such a special person and I know personally I will never forget him with his beautiful outlook on life and his love for all things Alabama. Special prayers for Betsy and Ms. Betty and all his family and many friends. What an honor and privilege to have known him and to know how perfect his life was because of the exemplar way he was raised by his family. Prayers for strength and may God Hold you during this time. So wish I could be there for the celebration of his life but my thoughts will be with you.

I did not know Walt personally, but I, like everyone who live away from Tuscaloosa and all of us who bleed crimson, are heartbroken by his passing. In looking at this fine young man, I wish that the rest of the world would view life as Walt did. He was positive, witty and his "Up Syndrome" became a better way to look at life, disability or not. Again, I did not know Walt, and that is my loss. But, what matters to me and what should matter to all that really knew him is through our tears, we have to know that while Walt passed, Walt really, really lived and we are all better for it.

I am so sorry for the loss of Walt!!! He will truly be missed by so many!! He was truly a dedicated BAMA fan!!! Prayers for the family, Coach Saban and all the BAMA team!!! RIP Walt, the world is a better place because you were here for a short time!!!

Mr and Mrs Gary and family, my deepest thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. You don't know me but Walt had a huge impact on my life in the fall of 1993. I was doing my practice teaching at Verner Elementary when Walt was in the 2nd grade there. That 8-9 week time period interacting with Walt shaped me into the teacher that I am today some 25+ years later. Thank you so much for having such a fine young man and allowing him to touch so many lives. Walt was such a blessing. Please rest easy knowing that Walt is in Heaven looking down on you with that big smile. God bless you

Walt, My heart breaks so bad. It's been hard the last two days. I always remember all the fun we had going to lunch with Ms. Crystal in her black trans- corvette. Playing all the country music that you truly loved. The songs by Gretchen Wilson. Having fun in the book department at the Supe Store. Babydoll Janet loves you and misses you so much. God Bless you.

You are an inspiration and one of Tuscaloosa and RISE School success stories. You definitely reached celebrity status just being you! You will be missed and forever in our hearts.
