After 16 years I still love Tommy.

I have learned to appreciate him even more, as the lesson I learned from his commitment to his family, I am now applying to my family.

I can also appreciate his high character, as the years go by, I've never met a finer man, and realize I never will.

The combined parenting of Tommy and Bali has resulted in children and grandchildren they are both proud of.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Cuthbert family. I was blessed to be able to work for Tommy when I became a golf professional and could not have asked for a better mentor and role model. He always greeted me with a smile and hug and had a way of making you feel truely special. He will be greatly missed.

I was in Summerville in November 2005 and met Tommy at the George Miller Country Club. When I met Him I was struck by his goodness and instantly recalled sharing the same table with his brother, Grange in Mrs. Scurry's 1st grade class. On the first day of school I had a very hard time. I remember three things that happened that day. I cried, Mrs. Scurry promised me one of her dog's puppies and how kind and encouraging Grange was to me that day of suffering. Some things we never forget. That day of kindness will be with me always. I could tell at once upon meeting Tommy that he was cut from the same precious bolt of cloth from which Grange was cut. What fine humans. May God bless all of Tommy's family and friends who will miss him so much!

To be absent from this body is to be with the Lord!

I am deeply saddened by the loss of Tommy Cuthbert. Tommy put Kiawah Island on the map and we should all be grateful for what he has accomplished in his lifetime. His door was always open for anybody to stop by for any help or just to say hello. He was a legend in this community and I know his legacy will live on forever. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and I am sorry I can't make it to the funeral.

In close to 20 years I don't remember ever seeing Tommy when he didn't have a smile and a moment to chat with me as if I were someone very special to him. He was as warm an individual as one could hope to know. A great loss to us, a bright star in God's heaven.

Tommy was the nicest man I knew in the golf business. I'll never forget Tommy and his wife, Beverly, attending my engagement party and thinking: of all the responsibility he has, he's still here! But, that was just Tommy being Tommy. My sincerest condolensces go to Tommy's family.
